Digital Hub

The Digital Hub (often referred to as "Hub") is a libraries-wide storage server designed for closer access to needed files than ARCHive can provide, but safer than storing something on your local machine. Currently, aside from BMA, Digital Stewardship, DLG (Digital Library of Georgia), Hargrett (Rare Book and Manuscript Library), MAGIL (Map and Government Information Library), and Russell (Library for Political Research and Studies) all have shares in hub and use it for various purposes. In BMA, we primarily use it to store our mezzanine copies of objects, but also as an ad-hoc digital ingest space.

To access the Hub, you will use the "Connect to Server" dialog and input the IP address for Hub (which you can get from other digitization unit staff). Hub will then require you to login with your myID credentials.

Currently, our shares include several mezzanine shares (mezzanine_1, mezzanine_2, etc.) and digital_ingest. For orders where an item has already been digitized, we are most often using the mezzanine copy (which will either be in Hub or on LTO tape), and further instructions for retrieving a file from hub can be found in this page.
