Weekly Timetable

Hi team,
Very nice work and impressive update frequencies.

It would be nice if we could add below the calendar/agenda a Timetable in order to be able to enter the week organisation per user.
Per user it will be possible to detail the week program per 30 to 15min breakdown in order to enter the school timetable, sports, music and all weekly recurring activities in one place. (to prepare bags, meals, and so on XD).

it will be ideal if it could handle multiple "reference" weeks because we have WEEK A and WEEK B at school for example.

but let's start a very basic weekly timetable it would be already very useful.

Thank you - and the use case at the end is the strongest part of the request: a week grid exists to answer "what does tomorrow need from me tonight", which is a different question from "what is in the calendar".

Two things stand between this and what exists today.

The calendar can already hold all of it - a recurring event per lesson, per training session, per music class. What it cannot do is show it the way a timetable does: month, week, day and agenda all lay out time first, and a timetable lays out person against time in a fixed grid, at a resolution (15 to 30 minutes) that the week view does not offer. That makes it a new view rather than a setting, and it is closely related to #670, which asks for a column per family member from a different angle.

The other half is entry. Typing a school timetable as thirty individual recurring events is not something anyone will do twice, so a timetable view that only displays would miss the point of your request - the grid has to be where you fill it in, block by block.

Which raises the question worth deciding first: should timetable entries be calendar events (one data model, they appear everywhere, but every lesson clutters the family calendar) or their own thing (a clean weekly grid, but a second place where the week is described)? I lean towards the first with a way to keep them out of the busy views, but that is not obviously right.

Hi @ulsklyc, and thank you to have read my idea.
my point was to have a separate entry by user with the weekly redundant stuff like school and all activities, to prepare bags, lunch,...
and not to have the complete detailed timetable inside the overall calendar.
But you are right, a weekly timetable is just a calendar with repeating entries. if I create separate agenda, one for each kid, it is easy to then filter the view. I started to work like this, so you don't need to spend too much time on this.
Maybe it would be useful to be able to quick select the agendas that are synced with yuvomi in order to ease this process like in google agenda for ex.
