Usage

Navigating the Storefront Tabs

The UI is organized into six main tabs:

• Multi-Language Support: Automatically matches KOReader's interface language across 17 supported languages without any extra configuration.

1. Plugins Browser (Storefront · Plugins)

   • Lists community-created KOReader plugins available for download.

   

2. Patches Browser (Storefront · Patches)

   • Lists user patches available to tweak KOReader's functionality.

   

3. Fonts Browser (Storefront · Fonts)

   • Lists curated fonts optimized for reading on e-ink screens (such as OpenDyslexic, Libre Baskerville, Merriweather, Atkinson Hyperlegible, Literata, and Lexend).
   • Shows live font previews right in the list so you can see how each font looks before installing.

   

4. Screensavers Browser (Storefront · Screensavers)

   • Lists curated, high-contrast wallpapers and screensavers tailored for e-ink and color e-paper displays.
   • Filter by categories: Nature, Minimalist, Architecture, Sci-Fi, Anime, Fantasy, Abstract, Art, and Quotes.
   • Tap any screensaver for a full-screen preview, metadata details, artist credit, and instant download to your device's screensaver directory.
   • Community-driven: Browse or contribute new wallpapers via the Storefront Screensavers Gallery.

5. Installed

   • Displays all plugins, patches, fonts, and screensavers currently installed on your device.
   • Allows you to enable, disable, or delete installed items.

   

6. Updates

   • Checks for available updates for your installed plugins and patches.

Typical Workflow

1. Open KOReader → Tools → Storefront.
2. Pick the Plugins, Patches, Fonts, or Screensavers tab.
3. Tap an entry to view details, READMEs, specimens, or high-res image previews.
4. Tap Install or Download to save it to your device (and restart when prompted for plugins/patches/fonts).
5. Open Settings (⚙️) to adjust screensaver display modes or manage caches.
6. Return anytime to the Updates tab to check for newer releases.

Plugin/Patch Details > Versions Tab

The Versions tab provides a comprehensive view of all published releases for any plugin or user patch directly from the repository details page.

• View all releases – See a list of every version, including pre‑releases and beta builds.
• Version details – Tap a version to open a full‑screen page showing its release notes, release date, and full version information.
• Install any version – Install the latest release, an older version, or a pre‑release with a single tap.
• Ignore releases – Mark specific versions to ignore so update notifications skip them; an eye icon indicates ignored vs. active versions.
• Pre‑release toggle – Quickly show or hide pre‑release and beta versions in the list.

Non-touch devices (Kindle 4 NT, Kindle Keyboard, …)

The Storefront plugin is not tested with non-touch devices. If you want full non-touch support, use the appstore instead.
