Improved

  • a custom command that fails posts a panel over the session carrying the command name, the exit status or launch error, and the last usable line of stderr when the command wrote one. A failure previously reported only through a macOS banner, so with notifications off a broken chord looked identical to one that did nothing. The panel clears after ten seconds and does not replace a running program overlay #613 @umputun
  • session hud open and session hud update take --hide-after SECONDS, so a HUD can carry its own lifetime instead of staying until something takes it down #613 @umputun
  • the bundled zmx 0.8.1 is rebuilt for the app's arm64 and macOS 14 baseline #616 @umputun

Bug Fixes

  • on macOS 27 with a comma-decimal locale, SF Symbols drew missing or malformed and a modal alert could take the app down. libghostty adopts the user's locale during init and CoreSVG parses symbol geometry through it, so a comma decimal separator mis-sized symbols and a zero-sized rasterization inside a modal's render aborted the process. A crash during quit also skipped the final session-state save. The numeric locale is now pinned after init, and spawned shells keep the user's locale #615 @umputun #611
  • building zmx from source failed under the macOS 27 SDK, which needs a protocol zig 0.16's bundled float.h does not implement. Setup applies a compatibility shim to the installed zig's header and keeps the original as a backup #615 @umputun #611
  • close the excess gap between sidebar disclosure triangles and row icons on macOS 27; earlier macOS layouts are unchanged a883cc1 @umputun

Signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple, so macOS Gatekeeper opens it with no extra steps. Apple Silicon (arm64) only, macOS 14 or later.
