Fiji always serves on the port abba-mcp waits on, whatever a shared Fiji preference says (a stale preference made the start wait forever). A clearer 'Fiji is starting' message (port, process, a log that stopped moving), and the stop tool works on a stuck start. Same ABBA 0.25.0 environment.

Stopping Fiji by mistake is now hard: tool annotations (read-only tools, a destructive stop tool that clients can ask you to confirm); the stop tool needs the user's own request and refuses while Fiji is starting. Same ABBA 0.25.0 environment.

First release of abba-mcp, the MCP server for ABBA 0.25.0 (Fiji 2.18.0, fiji-modules 0.1.2).

Install: uvx abba-mcp in any MCP client (Claude Code: claude mcp add abba -- uvx abba-mcp), the VS Code install button in the README, or, for Claude Desktop, the .mcpb attached below. You need uv; Java, Fiji and ABBA are downloaded on first use.
