1.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 22 Sep 02:40

New Features

  • Type a date: type @ (or define your own trigger) for a list of dates. Try tomorrow, next friday, 2w eow (in 2 weeks -> End of Week).
  • Name the day: @nov 3 or @3 nov 2027.
  • Pick the format as you type: press _ (or define your own key) on a date to choose how it's written.
  • Typing settings: turn typing on or off, set the trigger and the format key, and open a help page.
  • Languages you choose: month and weekday names in 100+ languages, typed and found in notes.
  • Dates keep their language: editing a date keeps it in the language it was written in.

Fixes

  • Fixed the settings tab failing to load in Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese and Korean.
  • Fixed ordinal-day formats (Do) missing dates in those languages.
  • Fixed spelled-out months going undetected in languages like Russian, Ukrainian and Lithuanian.

1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 14 Sep 02:45

New Features

  • Quick dates. Up to four shortcut buttons sit under the calendar, next to Today. Choose from 18 presets or write your own rule in settings.
  • Insert a date where there isn't one. The Pick a date command now works with the cursor anywhere, not only on an existing date. Uses the first format on your list.
  • Open the calendar from a Tasks emoji. Click a ➕ 🛫 ⏳ 📅 ✅ ❌ in front of a date to open the picker.

Improvements

  • Cleaned up the settings page. Each section now reads as one group, so finding a setting takes less hunting.
  • A note when you switch off opening the calendar by mouse. Suggests the command palette instead.

1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Sep 01:50

New features

  • Pick a date in place. Hover a date and click the calendar icon beside it, double-click it, or run Pick a date with the cursor on it. The day you pick is written back in the format the date already used, as a single undo step.
  • Ten built-in formats, plus your own. Formats are an ordered list and the first match claims a date, which is what settles 03/09/2026 being both March and September. Custom patterns use moment tokens, validated as you type, and a pattern that can't be read back reliably is refused.
  • Conflict warnings. When one format always beats another to its dates, settings says so and tells you whether to move it, drop it, or leave it.
  • Choose what gets scanned. Body text always, headings by default, and frontmatter, inline code, code blocks and wikilinks off until you switch them on. A worked example shows what each toggle takes in.
  • Calendar options. Week numbers, the first day of the week (starting from your own region's), and a line showing the exact text a pick will write.
  • Nothing moves in your note. The icon and the hover outline are drawn out of flow, so no text shifts when the pointer crosses a date.
  • Keyboard throughout. Arrows move a day or a week, Page up and Page down a month, with Shift a year. Enter picks, Escape closes.
  • 13 languages. Follows whatever Obsidian is set to: English, Deutsch, Español, Eesti, Français, 日本語, 한국어, Lietuvių, Latviešu, Português, Русский, Українська, 中文.

Compatibility

  • Requires Obsidian 1.13.0 or newer.
  • Works in Source mode and Live Preview. Reading mode is not supported, by design.
  • Dates only. Times aren't recognised yet.
