Closing: TypeScript 7.0.2 cannot be adopted in this repo yet. It fails in three places, and two are upstream blockers with no local workaround.

1. Lint. typescript-eslint refuses TS 7 by design — it throws typescript-eslint does not support TS 7.0 at module load, and its peer range is >=4.8.4 <6.1.0. Latest is 8.65.0; there is no v9. Tracked upstream in typescript-eslint#10940.
2. Build. rollup-plugin-dts (used by tsup for .d.ts output) crashes with Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'useCaseSensitiveFileNames') on compiler internals removed in TS 7. Latest 6.4.1 caps its peer at typescript: ^4.5 || ^5.0 || ^6.0.
3. Typecheck. packages/tools-ai-sdk/tsconfig.json set downlevelIteration and baseUrl, both removed in TS 7 (TS5102).

Only the third is ours to fix. Both upstream packages do support TypeScript 6, so #2984 goes to 6.0.3 instead — the highest version the current toolchain allows, and the standard stepping stone before 7. Built artifacts under 6.0.3 are byte-identical to 5.9.3 across all 46 emitted files in cli, sdk, mcp and tools-ai-sdk.

Worth reopening once typescript-eslint and rollup-plugin-dts ship TS 7 support.
