@urtzienriquez urtzienriquez released this 29 Sep 00:27

zotero.nvim 2.0.0

For Neovim nightly (0.13-dev). On Neovim 0.10–0.12, use the v0 branch
(release v0.2.0), which has the same features.

This release reworks the layout and removes the built-in fuzzy finder, so
some keymaps and options from 1.x no longer exist.

Breaking changes

  • Layout: the Zotero tab opens with the items list only. gb opens the
collections as a full-width split (at the top or bottom, following
'splitbelow'); gq closes it. The fixed two-pane layout is gone.
  • Removed: the fuzzy finder (<leader>zf) and its fzf-lua/telescope
backends, with the backend option. Use ff searches instead.
  • Removed keymaps: <Tab>/<Esc> pane switching, tc, and the
    overrides of j, k, <Down>, <Up>, gg and G (Neovim's own motions
apply). In the edit buffer, q is gone: :q closes it and :wq saves and
    closes.
  • Removed options: keymaps.fuzzy_find, items_move_*,
    items_go_to_*, items_focus_collections, items_toggle_collections,
    collections_move_*, collections_focus_items*,
collections_toggle_pane, and backend. Remove them from your config.

New

  • :checkhealth zotero: checks the tools, the database, whether Zotero is
running, the companion add-on's version and Better BibTeX.
  • ff search: & (AND) for combined searches, ^/$ anchors for field
searches, full-text searches when SQLite has FTS5, and much faster item
    queries.
  • Keymaps gb (open collections), gq (close collections), and in the
edit buffer K (show fields), gK (regenerate key), g? (help).
  • Help and edit windows open full width, at the top or bottom following
'splitbelow'; the edit window is reused; floating windows follow
    resizes.
  • Modules load on first use, not at startup.

Fixes

  • Window options are set on zotero's own windows only, so new windows keep
    your settings; the collections split keeps your sign and number columns;
    fold options are set locally.
  • The # column of the items list widens to fit the last row number.
  • Collections entries are looked up as drawn.
  • gq no longer fails when the collections are the last window.

Staying on 1.x

  • vim.pack: version = "v1.0.0"
  • lazy.nvim: version = "1.*"
