New in 1.3.4

  • Keyboard-interactive sign-in. Many network devices ask for the password through a question-and-answer exchange rather than the plain password method. Noden now supports it, so a saved password signs you in without being asked again. Together with 1.3.3's legacy algorithm support, switches and appliances that speak only older SSH are now reachable end to end.
  • Connections can no longer hang forever. If a server doesn't finish setting up the session within 30 seconds, Noden stops waiting and explains why instead of sitting on "connecting".
  • Honest sign-in errors. A rejected password now says exactly that, instead of blaming the server's encryption settings. When a server only accepts methods Noden can't use, it says so and lists them.
  • Anonymous usage statistics now work in released builds. Because of a build setting, the daily "still in use" ping had only been running in development builds since 1.1.8. Nothing about what is sent has changed — four fields, no IP, no hostnames — and it can still be turned off in Settings ▸ General ▸ Privacy.
