Releases: useroption3/zotero-extra-columns

v1.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@useroption3 useroption3 released this 29 Jun 14:20

Fix: Zotero 9 installation incompatibility

This release fixes the "could not be installed" error on Zotero 9.

Root causes fixed

  1. Plugin ID format — The old ID extra-columns@zotero-plugin used a single-label domain (zotero-plugin) which Zotero 9's stricter Gecko validation rejects. Changed to extra-columns@useroption3.github.io.

  2. chrome.manifest removed — Zotero 9 no longer supports the old-style chrome.manifest file in XPIs. Chrome package registration is now done via aomStartup.registerChrome() in bootstrap.js (the modern approach used by Zotero 9-compatible plugins).

Other improvements

  • Chrome registration failures are now logged via Zotero.logError instead of silently ignored.
  • shutdown() is now wrapped in try/catch to guarantee the chrome handle is always released.
