Release list
Vibex 2.0.0
New
- Approval inbox. When a Claude Code session needs your approval or asks a question, its terminal tab gets an orange dot, the menu bar lists it under Waiting for You, and a notification jumps you straight to it. Vibex adds async hooks to
~/.claude/settings.json(backed up first); turn them off in Setup & Permissions. - Budget alerts. Set a limit per Claude session in AI Usage, or let Vibex learn one from your past sessions. You get a notification at 80% and at 100%.
- Parallel agents. Start several Claude attempts, each in its own git worktree and
vibex/<name>branch. Review an agent's diff in Source Control, then merge it or throw it away. - Before and after. Every run saves a simulator screenshot, and so does the camera in the simulator header. The Compare tab shows any two with a draggable divider or side by side, and copies the pair for a PR. Claude can take one with
simulator_snapshot. - Devices. Several simulators side by side in one tab, each live and touchable. Add a small phone, a large phone and an iPad in one click. Run on All installs the last app Claude built on every device, and
simulator_screenshot_allgives Claude all of them in one image. - MCP servers. A new sidebar lists the MCP servers Claude Code uses, for every project and for this one. The marketplace tab shows featured servers (Playwright, GitHub, Sentry, Linear, Notion, Supabase…) and searches the official MCP registry. Installs go through
claude mcp add, asking for any API key first.
Better
- A dark design throughout, matching the website, with Untitled UI icons and real tool logos (from devicon and svglogos).
- AI Agents is now called AI Usage.
Install or update: curl -fsSL https://uwussimo.github.io/vibex/install.sh | sh
Vibex 1.2.4
New
- Vibex skill for Claude Code. Vibex installs a
vibexskill in~/.claude/skillsand keeps it current, so Claude Code in every project knows how to use the simulator, browser and terminal tools. Remove it in the Skills sidebar to opt out; Setup & Permissions can put it back. - New-tab page. New tabs list the dev servers running on your Mac (refreshed every few seconds), plus shortcuts, instead of a blank page.
Better
- Terminals start your own login shell (zsh, bash or fish), so
npm, nvmand Homebrew tools work as in your regular terminal. - The menu bar icon opens its menu on any click. AI Agents is an item in it.
- Run is gone from the window. Claude runs projects with
vibex_run, and you can stop a run from the menu bar. - Tab titles and the address bar stay in sync for every tab, including ones opened later.
localhost, LAN and.testaddresses open over http.
Fixed
npm run …failed with "fish: Unknown command: npm" when your shell isn't fish.- Pages could open a dialog by redirecting to an app link; links now open other apps only when you click them.
Install or update: curl -fsSL https://uwussimo.github.io/vibex/install.sh | sh
Vibex 1.2.1
Better
- Closing the last browser or terminal tab closes that column. Its activity bar button brings it back, and the choice survives a relaunch. With both closed, the window shows Nothing open with New Terminal, Simulator and Browser.
- The activity bar is grouped: Terminal, Simulator and Browser (⌘1–⌘3), then Source Control and Skills, with AI Agents and Setup at the bottom.
- Run moved to a labeled title-bar button that names what it runs ("Run Habits") and turns into Stop.
- Updates found at launch or by Check for Updates now show a prompt with the release notes and Restart to Update.
- ⌘T opens a terminal tab even when focus is in the sidebar.
- Terminal tabs show the folder name instead of an abbreviated path ("claude · vibex").
Fixed
- The "update available" message at launch never appeared.
Install or update: curl -fsSL https://uwussimo.github.io/vibex/install.sh | sh
Vibex 1.2.0
New
- AI Agents dashboard in the menu bar and as an editor tab (⌃⇧A): Claude session and plan limits, spending at API value, trend, models, projects, 13-week activity and Codex limits. Read from local logs only.
- Skills sidebar (⌃⇧K): manage global and project skills, and browse and install from skills.sh.
- VS Code layout: activity bar, Source Control sidebar, terminal, and one tabbed editor area. The Simulator tab appears when a device boots.
- Syntax highlighting in diffs, for about 20 languages.
- New lightning bolt icon.
Better
- Discards are undoable: edits are saved first and untracked files go to the Trash.
- After a commit, Push or Publish Branch is one click; git errors come with a plain explanation and a fix.
- The diff has a Stage button that moves on to the next file, plus Next/Previous Change (⌥⌘↓/↑).
- Create an iPhone simulator from the empty state when none exist.
- Larger click targets for row and tab buttons.
Fixed
- Side-by-side diffs showed every section after the first as blank.
Vibex is now MIT licensed.

Source Control sidebar, menu bar extra, setup window, Google Sans, universal build, vibex command, auto-update
Vibex 1.0.0
The first release of Vibex: a native macOS workstation with a terminal, the iOS Simulator embedded in the window, and a side browser, driven by Claude Code over MCP.
Highlights
- Terminal: SwiftTerm tabs with a Metal renderer, fish by default, starting in your project folder.
- Embedded simulator: rendered from CoreSimulator's framebuffer with touch, keyboard and hardware buttons; slim boots through simslim.
- Browser: tabbed WebKit browser with console and network capture.
- Projects: one window per folder, like VS Code, with tabs, device and layout remembered per project.
- Run (⇧⌘R): build and launch iOS apps on the window's simulator, open Mac apps, start dev servers with a preview tab, or run any command. Configure with
.vibex.json. - Command palette (⇧⌘P) for commands, projects, tabs and devices.
- Built-in MCP server: Claude Code can screenshot and tap the simulator, read its accessibility tree, drive browser tabs by element ref, and run the project. Calls from a project's terminal act on that project's window.
Install
- Download
Vibex-1.0.0.dmg, open it, drag Vibex to Applications. - This build is not notarized. After the first launch is blocked, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Bundled: simslim and XcodeGen (MIT). You need Xcode 26 with an iOS simulator runtime and, for MCP, Claude Code. Apple Silicon and macOS 26 only.
