@uxjulia uxjulia released this 13 Jun 20:11

This release is up to date with the master branch of Crosspoint as of 3:55pm EDT June 13, 2026

New

  • You can now add custom shortcuts to Long-press Back Action that applies when within the reader. This would previously open the file browser and remains the default action. Settings > Controls > Front Buttons > Long Press Back Action
  • Additional shortcut options have been added for Calibre Wireless, Join a Network, Create Hotspot, Browse Files, and Footnotes (#222).
  • You can now hide file extensions in the file browser. Settings > System > Files & Cache > Hide File Extension (#248).
  • Minimal theme's 2-line file browser display can now be applied to any theme. Set it from Settings > System > Files & Cache > File Browser Display. Note: If you currently have Minimal theme set, this will default to 2 Lines, otherwise it will default to 1 Line.
  • You can now give your device a name for use during KOReader sync. The device name is also used to identify the device duringNearby Stats Sync (not used in the file creation though). Set it from Settings > System > Device > Device Name.

Fixed

  • Pressing the back button from an option selection no longer takes you back two pages (#250).
  • PNG images in the file browser can properly be previewed now (#251).
  • If your Sleep Screen setting was not set to Cover before opening a book and then you set it to Cover, the Dark sleep screen was being shown instead. This has been fixed now. (#252).
  • Page Overlay PNG images should no longer re-index on every wake and can now use any screen as the background, not just a book's page (#255).
  • Lyra Carousel home icons should now update properly when dynamic icons like OPDS and Bookmarks are added.
  • Improved KOReader sync positions that can land a few pages after chapter start especially in EPUBs with large non-visible style blocks before the actual reading content.
  • RoundedRaff theme: X3's date in Settings no longer overlaps with the battery.
  • A confirmation dialog is now shown when you click on Clear Bookmark List.

Changed

  • The clock display setting label for the X3 has flipped from Show Clock to Hide Clock. Options remain the same and your settings have migrated, i.e. if you had Show Clock= Never, it is now Hide Clock = Always. Now users who don't want to see the clock in the reader can set Hide Clock to In Reader.
  • Clear Reading Cache no longer removes per-book readings stats (global stats were always preserved). To delete individual book stats, you can now navigate to Delete Book's Reading Stats from within the book or from the file browser by long-pressing to bring up the book's context menu. (#253).
  • Crossink now stores settings in its own crossink-settings.json file and will automatically copy over any existing settings.json settings on first creation. What this means: If you flash another firmware and return back to Crossink, your previous Crossink settings will remain the same and no longer get reset to defaults. However, this also means settings you made in Crossink won't follow you to other firmwares unless you rename crossink-settings.json to settings.json. This does not apply to WiFi, OPDS, KOReader, or Recent Books list, which live in their own .json files.

Tip

If you experience any problems, please clear your caches before opening an issue. Start with the least invasive and work your way to the most invasive if problems persist after each step.

  1. Delete book cache (In-reader menu > Delete book cache)
  2. From your SD card: Delete the individual .crosspoint/epub_<hash> folder for the book giving you issues
  3. Delete all reading cache (Settings > System > Files & Cache > Clear Reading Cache)
  4. From your SD card: Delete ALL .crosspoint/epub_<hash> folders and recent.json and state.json
  5. Back up your global_stats.bin and then delete the entire .crosspoint/ folder
