Snipper — Windows-style ⇧⌥S region screenshots for macOS,
⇧⌥D screen recording with trim and system audio, and ⇧⌥T to copy
the text out of anything on screen.

See CHANGELOG.md for what's new in this version.

Install

  1. Unzip and move Snipper.app to /Applications.
  2. This build is ad-hoc signed (no Apple Developer ID, not notarized),
    so macOS Gatekeeper warns on first launch. Either:
    • right-click Snipper.app → Open → Open, or
    • run: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Snipper.app
  3. Press ⇧⌥S, enable Snipper under System Settings → Privacy &
    Security → Screen Recording, then relaunch it.

Building from source keeps it stably signed — see the README.
