Release v2.0.4 (Cumulative Update: v1.1.0 ➡️ v2.0.4)

This is a massive milestone update! We've skipped several versions to bring you a completely overhauled experience, including our new social platform (Matcha!), full modpack sharing capabilities, Steam Deck support, and much more.

Here is the complete list of everything added, changed, and fixed from v1.1.0 up to v2.0.4.

🚀 Major Highlights (The 2.0.0 Era)

  • Matcha! Social System: Say hello to Matcha! A brand new social integration featuring a friends system, real-time chat, and rich presence so you can see exactly what your friends are doing in Hytale.
  • Premium Accounts: Full support for Premium Hytale accounts has been added.
  • Complete Mod Management & Modpacks: You can now manage mods and profiles seamlessly. We've introduced the ability to export modpacks and share them with friends, or import them using just a single code!
  • New 'Servers' Tab: Discover and join a public list of servers where anyone can participate voluntarily.
  • New 'Server Hosting' Tab: Quickly host your own servers directly from the launcher, or connect to a dedicated server.
  • New 'Wiki' Tab: Quickly resolve your game doubts without leaving the launcher.
  • Steam Deck Compatibility: Added official support and navigation for the Steam Deck within the menu.
  • Multi-language Support: Added options to manage and switch between multiple languages.

✨ New Features & Additions

Launcher Core:

  • Custom Installation Path: You can now manually select the download directory for the game files.
  • Offline Mode: The launcher now supports offline usage, allowing you to access the interface and play without an active connection.
  • Auto-Delete Patches: Added a new setting to automatically delete old patches to save space.
  • Update Notifications: The launcher will now notify you when a new version is available with a detailed changelog modal (Auto-updates are disabled to encourage visiting our official site).
  • Social Media Integration: Added direct buttons to our official Instagram and X channels.
  • Wiki Links: Added the ability to view and copy internal and external links directly from the Wiki tab.
  • Server Arguments: Added support for custom server arguments in the Server Hosting tab (currently experimental/untested).

Matcha! System (v2.0.4 additions):

  • MOD Role: Added the new MOD role within the Matcha! platform.
  • Profile Pictures: You can now set custom profile pictures or use your Hytale avatar.
  • Kaomojis: Added a new Kaomojis button to the chat.

🛠 Changed & Improved

Matcha! Enhancements:

  • Chat Sorting: Chats are now smartly ordered by your most recent interaction.
  • Better Notifications: Incoming friend requests have been redesigned to be much more noticeable.
  • Global Chat Profiles: You can now view other people's profiles simply by clicking on their names in the global chat.
  • Message Tracking: Messages are now properly followed and tracked in the chat view.

Mod Management:

  • Redesigned Import UI: The interface for importing mod packs has been completely revamped.
  • Deletion Safeguards: Added a double confirmation prompt when deleting a mod to prevent accidental losses.
  • Sorting & Stats: Added a new "Installed First" sorting option. The 'Installed' window now displays the total count of downloaded and active mods.
  • QoL Improvements: Disabling a mod no longer auto-scrolls you back to the top of the list. You can also save changes to a mod profile without needing to re-enter the profile name.
  • Clearer UI: Improved visual distinction between manually installed mods and launcher-installed mods.

Logic, Connectivity & UI:

  • Reworked Download System & Security: The download system has been completely fixed and overhauled. Traffic is now securely routed through a tunnel from official sources to prevent tracking and sabotage.
  • MacOS Online Patch: Resolved compatibility issues with the online patch for macOS users.
  • Offline Logic: Implemented offline mode handling to manage available versions when connectivity is lost.
  • UI Components: Updated UI components, including a new drag bar with additional controls and a refactored settings modal.
  • Under the Hood: Enhanced logging functionality (detailed error messages/stack traces), improved error handling with specific codes/hints, and introduced semantic version parsing utilities.

🐛 General Fixes

  • Critical File Management Fix: Fixed a severe bug where deleting the latest Pre-release would accidentally trigger the deletion of the Latest Release folder.
  • Typos: Fixed typos... and then fixed more typos.

🗑 Removed

  • Premium Mode: Removed the UUID change functionality.
  • News: Removed the double close option.
