v1.50.0
[1.50.0] - 2026-07-22
Vaara for macOS enters public beta. The same governance engine the CLI
runs, now with a menu-bar face.
- The menu-bar app (SwiftPM, macOS 13+, zero third-party dependencies)
shows the live verdict of your AI agents: green when moves pass policy,
yellow on an escalation or a waiting approval, red on a deny. Click it
for the running agents, a live intervention feed, and a History tab
holding every allow, escalate, and deny on record. - An approval window surfaces escalated agent moves for a human decision
in the moment, instead of only after the fact in the audit trail. - The Setup tab wires your AI tools through Vaara's policy gate: it scans
the MCP client configs on the machine (Claude Desktop, Claude Code,
Cursor, Windsurf), backs up the original, and rewrites ungoverned
servers to run throughvaara-mcp-proxy. Restore puts the pre-Vaara
config back. - The app reads the same on-machine SQLite audit trails the Claude Code
plugin andvaara-mcp-proxywrite. No server, no telemetry; everything
stays on the machine. - Build from source:
xcode-select --install, then./build.shin
clients/macos. Locally built binaries run without Gatekeeper
quarantine, so no Developer ID is required to run the app you built.
Qualified timestamp anchoring against any EU-qualified provider chosen
from the EU trusted lists, operator-configured everywhere, carries
forward from 1.41.0 unchanged. No shared qualified endpoint is baked in
as a default.
