Radios, GPIO devices and connector references — collection 2026.09.13

34 new records, 12 enriched records, 104 reference attachments and 164 sourced pin-function rows. Of the new attachments, 25 are physical pinout images; the remaining material includes connector references, schematics, original PDFs, mechanical drawings, labels and identification photographs. These counts describe attachments, not independently approved all-pin maps.

What was added

  • RAKwireless: WisBlock core/base/power references, RAK11160/11161 and RAK3112/3212. RAK11310, RAK11722 and RAK4631 have offline WisConnector tables. The 40 numbered connector contacts and four F contacts are distinct from castellated module numbering.
  • Heltec: HT-1303, HT-N5262M, Mesh Node T1 and T096, plus Wireless Paper source PDFs. HT-N5262M's overview links a missing datasheet; its physical pin map and schematic are available. T1's saved preliminary document has conflicting footer/revision dates, and a complete external GPIO map remains missing.
  • Elecrow: 14 distinct RA-08H, LR1302, LR1262 and nRFLR module/carrier variants. A module pin map must not be substituted for the carrier header layout.
  • Seeed Studio: reviewed existing Wio Tracker L1 variants, added Wio-LR1121 documentation and a separate Wio-SX1262-LF module record. The LF document identifies STM32WLE5JC and 28 SMT contacts; it is not the similarly named HF add-on. Raw Seeed working collections were not edited.
  • OpenSourceSDRLab / PortaPack: H4M Pro source schematics and product identification, an ESP32-MDK record with GPIO schematics, and the original H4M connector source. H4M Pro compatibility is not inferred from older H4M drawings.
  • Hat Labs: HALMET, HALPI2 and SH-ESP32 hardware/interface references. Power domains, jumper requirements and revision differences remain explicit.
  • LOLIN: D1 mini V4.0.0, Lite V1.0.0 and Pro V2.0.0 manufacturer photographs/schematics; Lite and Pro gain sourced header-function tables. Existing NodeMCU 0.9 and 1.0 records remain available.
  • REYAX: the original RYLR998 datasheet and physical five-pin map, discovered through Voltaat and checked against the manufacturer PDF.

Discovery does not establish coverage

DigiKey supplied an original RAK4631 manufacturer PDF. Mouser's LR 14 Click lead, Electromaker's LR Click listing, further Elecrow ThinkNode devices and other RAK/Heltec catalog pages remain leads requiring exact physical-map review. Tindie's search returned an access restriction, so its catalog has not been audited. One Voltaat LoRa listing mixed TTGO/Heltec naming and radio specifications; it was not used to assign an identity or pinout.

Random Nerd Tutorials' ESP32/RFM95 tutorial is linked as further learning with author-site attribution. Its example wiring is not a universal ESP32 pinout, and its text and illustrations were not imported into unrelated board records.

Many additional radio modules and development boards remain unreviewed. Missing exact GPIO maps, datasheets and manufacturer identification remain visible in the documentation and pinout audits. This is a bounded collection update, not a complete worldwide inventory.

Evidence and rights

Manufacturer originals retain source URLs, SHA-256 hashes, revision scope and separate review/rights status. PDF page images record the source PDF hash and page. Original photos and block diagrams are not counted as physical pinouts. No pin assignments or electrical limits were independently bench-tested, and no new Power Desk ratings are approved by this update.

Original artwork belongs to its manufacturers and contributors. Heltec documents explicitly restrict commercial reproduction without permission; SH-ESP32 hardware cites CC BY-SA 4.0. Unknown redistribution and book-print rights remain unknown. Black Wire's editorial license does not relicense third-party diagrams. First Edition / 2026 remains the editorial edition. The book draft is unchanged.

First Edition collection 2026.09.9 — Source sweep and new hardware

@valleytechsolutions valleytechsolutions released this 27 Sep 02:39

First Edition source sweep / 2026.09.9

This snapshot adds six board records, fills one empty record and adds 24 reference entries, including four physical pinout-image entries. One corrupt reference was retired, and two empty records created from scraped footnote numbers were merged into their real models. The resulting catalog has 2,593 board/device listings, 501 maker listings, 3,377 board references and 1,515 physical pinout-image entries across 70 populated source groups. Counts include related and shared records, not unique independently approved hardware.

Hardware Saved evidence Scope
Espressif ESP-Mosaico CoreBoard V1.0 schematic, H1/H2 connector schematics, component views and source pin tables Connector schematics are not physical board maps. H1 orientation and shared audio pins matter.
ESP32-P4X-C5-Function-EV-Board V2.0 schematic, board labels and J1 signal table P4 and C5 processors are both searchable.
ESP32-P4X-EYE Manufacturer component views Supporting references; full physical GPIO map still needed.
ESP32-P4X-Function-EV-Board V1.6 front view and J1 table Manufacturer reuses a V1.5.2 back image; that revision remains labeled.
BrisbaneSilicon ELM11 Feather 49-page board datasheet, three physical pinout sheets, block diagram and dimensions Match FPGA overlays 00002, 00003 or 00013. Creator lists pre-orders; shipping dates are estimates.
Terasic Atum A3 Nano 48-page hardware manual and JP1 map with pin-1 orientation JP1 only; full manual covers other connectors.
Steiert Solutions CycloMod Creator board photo and RP2350/FPGA block diagram Pre-release campaign. Board datasheet and physical MicroMod pinout remain missing.

Original document URLs, SHA-256 hashes, revisions, rights and correction evidence are in the intake ledger. Board pages link original files. Reference art retains its source rights; it is not relicensed by the editorial license.

Corrections and source conflicts

  • Nine display-board processor classifications corrected: four CrowPanel P4 boards had been marked S3; four S3 display boards had been marked S31; one C6 display board had been marked C61. Display sizes must not be appended to chip identifiers.
  • Two imported Waveshare labels, ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-3.5B1 and ESP32-S3-ePaper-13.3E67, were footnote-suffix errors. Canonical records remain; legacy IDs and search aliases resolve to the real models.
  • A truncated ReSpeaker Lite front PNG was confirmed identical at the upstream URL and removed from the current bundle. Its valid physical pinout image remains. Separate source working collections and older releases are unchanged.
  • Five missing manufacturer/documentation endpoints were replaced with checked model resources: Saola-1, WisMesh Base and three Waveshare boards. The two invalid Waveshare endpoints disappeared with the merged records.
  • ESP-Mosaico H2 GPIO19 remains a source conflict: the HTML pin table says ADC, while the connector schematic marks TOUCH. The guide preserves both and flags the discrepancy. It does not invent a corrected analog capability or infer a power-input range from an output rail.

Audit results and limits

All 3,094 listing names pass their own name searches with ordinary dashes, Unicode dashes and spaces. 7,493 visual files passed decode/parse checks, including PDF pages and existing previews; 18 non-visual files were classified separately. Four exceptionally large source PNGs were checked with sequential libvips decoding. This does not independently verify every printed pin assignment.

7,560 manifest paths and 3,745 original-source hashes pass integrity checks. The endpoint audit associates 2,230 distinct documentation URLs with 2,498 listings: 1,705 responded, six returned not found, 14 restricted access, 17 had connection errors and 488 were deferred after repeated publisher-host errors. Deferred URLs were not checked. These results do not certify document model identity. The six remaining missing endpoints are old ODROID-GO and XNucleo model pages; available local references and separately identified manuals remain usable.

Only eight board/device listings currently have explicitly classified board datasheets, and 93 have board hardware guides. Older unclassified documents and missing manufacturer datasheets remain research gaps; a chip datasheet or schematic is not silently counted as a board datasheet. See every listing's documentation coverage.

This is a substantial audited update, not a complete worldwide inventory or a zero-bug guarantee. First Edition / 2026 is unchanged. The book draft was not edited.

First Edition — collection 2026.09.8: Jetson, NanoPi and I/O

Choose a tag to compare

@valleytechsolutions valleytechsolutions released this 27 Sep 00:52

Jetson, NanoPi and I/O expansion / 2026.09.8

First Edition / 2026 is unchanged. This digital snapshot adds 75 listings and 114 reference files, including 15 physical pinout-image entries. Eight previously empty records gain references. These counts include partial connector maps and variant records; they are not complete-device approvals.

Hardware added

  • FriendlyELEC NanoPi, NanoPC, compute modules and carrier/I/O boards, including newer M6V2, NEO3 Plus, R28S and T6 Plus documentation. RAM and LTS variants are separated where source images distinguish them. Duo, Duo2, NEO, NEO2, NEO Air, NEO Core, NEO Core2, NEO Plus2 and NanoPC-T1 include physical connector diagrams. Other labeled layouts and schematic tables remain supporting references.
  • NVIDIA Jetson Nano, Nano 2GB, Xavier NX, AGX Xavier, Orin Nano, AGX Orin, AGX Thor and TX2 developer kits. Orin Nano J12 and AGX Orin J30 have saved physical header maps. Thor J47 CAN and J511 audio references are signal tables, not Orin-compatible 40-pin maps. Carrier-board revisions and document versions are different identifiers.
  • Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 and 5 IO Board datasheets and visual reference pages; Olimex RK3188-SOM-EVB and AM3352-SOM revision C GPIO maps; RAK13002 WisBlock IO pinout; Antmicro Jetson Orin Baseboard identification render and source design repository.

Manufacturer original files remain unchanged. Rendered PDF pages and the RAK SVG preview retain the original document/vector, source hashes and page scope. Formal board datasheets, hardware manuals, schematics and chip datasheets have separate metadata. Newly checked external schematic links remain online unless explicitly marked saved.

Catalog-wide documentation inventory

Every listing now states whether its board datasheet, original manufacturer website and visual reference have been recorded. Full documentation audit · per-listing CSV · pinout audit.

This is an evidence inventory, not a claim that every missing document has been found. Older unclassified documents do not automatically count as board datasheets. Historical manufacturer-domain links are marked recorded rather than freshly checked. Generic/unidentified hardware cannot be assigned a manufacturer or exact datasheet without evidence. Product photographs, chip package maps and block diagrams do not count as physical board pinouts.

Some legacy NVIDIA downloads require sign-in; these were not bypassed. Public source manuals were used where available. Retrieval failures remain research gaps. Adafruit MCP23017 component documentation is explicitly chip-level and does not substitute for the breakout-board guide.

Scope and remaining work

The collection has 2,589 board/device records, 501 maker records, 3,354 board reference entries and 1,511 physical pinout-image entries. Many entries still need a physical map, exact PCB revision, classified board datasheet or original manufacturer link. No worldwide completeness, all-pin electrical approval or new power-test results are claimed. The physical book draft and parallel manufacturer working collections are unchanged.

Original code/editorial licenses do not relicense source artwork. Per-asset rights remain recorded; print and redistribution rights require their own review. Source intake · Attributions.

Wiring & protocols — collection 2026.09.12

Fifteen original Black Wire connection guides and SVG diagrams cover Ethernet and telephone connectors, UART, RS-232, RS-485, CAN, I2C, SPI, SWD, JTAG and RFID/NFC roles. Module examples distinguish ELECHOUSE ST25R3916B SPI from I2C, six-pin PN7160 MINI V1 from eight-pin variants, and PN532 V3 host-mode switches from other revisions.

Browse the guides · Source evidence · Diagram attribution and hashes

These diagrams explain connections and are not additional physical board pinouts. Existing board/module counts, source images and Power Desk profiles are unchanged. Original writing and artwork are CC BY 4.0, by Kal / Valleytech Solutions; cited manufacturer documents retain their own rights. No source artwork has been relabeled as original Black Wire artwork.

The guides provide scope, use cases, connection tables, signal direction, preparation checks and exact module crosslinks. Manufacturer documents were inspected; no independent electrical/bench certification is claimed. The ST25R3916B module source is explicitly a V0.3 Draft. PN532 V3 legacy voltage wording is not imported as an approved limit. Telephone and CAN guidance does not supply a universal automotive or country-specific harness map.

The app and public/static GitHub wiki use the same catalog content. The physical book draft and existing manufacturer collections are not edited. Editorial edition: First Edition / 2026.

Walnut Pi and the Pico-family gaps identified in the preceding coverage audit remain open; this wiring update does not claim to fill them.

First Edition collection 2026.09.11 — HaleHound and Elechouse

Choose a tag to compare

@valleytechsolutions valleytechsolutions released this 27 Sep 17:03

HaleHound and Elechouse / collection 2026.09.11

First Edition / 2026. Adds 32 listings: eight board/device records and 24 maker-module records. There are 106 reference attachments, backed by 94 distinct media files. Six attachments are classified as partial physical pinout images; the other files are original PDFs, connector tables, wiring diagrams, labeled hardware and identification photos. None is an independent all-connector approval.

HaleHound and its CYD base boards

The original 18-page HaleHound CYD Build Guide v1.4.1 is saved with its SHA-256 hash. Selected original pages are also available as readable PNGs, with page numbers and a link back to the unchanged PDF. Credits remain with HaleHound, Bkbroiler and the original contributors.

Separate records cover the original non-SPI 2.8-inch CYD build, the SPI-exposed 2.8-inch build and the 3.5-inch SPI build. The QDtech E32R28T and E32R35T base boards have separate LCDwiki specifications, user manuals and schematics. Kit modifications must not be applied to an unmodified base board by assumption.

The build guide contains revision-dependent CS assignments, ambiguous GPS TX/RX labels and questionable regulator terminology. The 3.5-inch instructions are described as work in progress in places. Those limitations are visible in the records. No electrical claims from this guide were imported as verified Power Desk ratings. The standalone ESP32 module map on page 7 was not added as a development-board pinout image.

Elechouse

Four current shop pages yielded 41 product listings. This intake includes 26 pin-connected hardware products plus the legacy PN532 V3 referenced by the HaleHound guide. Passive tags, antennas, cables and a custom service are recorded as exclusions, not extra GPIO-board records.

Included families: serial RFID V5, PN532 V3/V4/Purple/Evolution/external-antenna/USB/MINI variants, PN5180, CLRC663, PN7150, PN7160 and PN7161 I2C/SPI variants, ST25R3916/B and MINI, Network RFID V0.1H, Proxmark3 V2, CC1101, motor drivers, a power module, two voice-recognition modules and TAIJIUINO Due R3S.

36 pin-purpose rows across five module variants are transcribed from manufacturer connector tables, with exact PDF hashes and page references. They cover PN5321 MINI, PN7160 MINI I2C, standard PN7160/PN7161 I2C and full-size ST25R3916B. Pin numbers follow the source table; a cable's mating face may reverse the apparent order.

Source differences and remaining work

  • The serial RFID V5 product links a manual titled SSRFIDV3.0. It remains a labeled legacy reference.
  • PN5321 MINI web and PDF specifications disagree about supply range and ISO15693 support. The saved September 2026 hardware-V2 PDF and the conflict are recorded separately.
  • The legacy CC1101 manual mentions CC1100 and has conflicting interface-voltage wording. The old PN532 V3 manual also has questionable TTL-voltage wording. Neither establishes verified electrical limits here.
  • PN716x and ST25R3916B manufacturer characterization results remain in their original documents. They are not Black Wire bench tests or guaranteed maximum ratings.
  • Some exact models still need physical connector maps. Exact Ebyte E07, Cinder Ferret carrier and generic power-module PCB identities need further review.
  • Asset-specific redistribution and print rights are not established by Black Wire's editorial license. Manufacturer artwork retains its original rights.

This is a documented intake, not a complete historical inventory. The existing catalog, galleries, search, document viewer and wiki architecture are retained. No book files were edited.

First Edition collection 2026.09.10 — Inland and DFRobot

Choose a tag to compare

@valleytechsolutions valleytechsolutions released this 27 Sep 03:55

Inland, DFRobot and distributor-source expansion / 2026.09.10

First Edition / 2026 remains the editorial edition. This is a digital collection snapshot; the book draft was not edited.

118 new listings: 68 board/device records and 50 maker-module records. Three existing DFRobot records were enriched. The collection now has 2,661 board/device listings, 551 maker listings, 3,504 board reference entries and 1,549 board physical-pinout image entries. The maker index has 124 unique physical-reference images. Counts include variants and shared images; they are not unique-device or completeness claims.

Inland coverage

Reviewed all 48 articles returned by Micro Center's Inland Maker Products support category and all 49 Inland products returned by its current Boards/Projects category, including unavailable stock. An additional Super Learning Kit guide supplies archived board references. The result is 67 Inland records: 17 boards/devices and 50 modules, shields, sensors and kits, with eight physical pinout-image attachments. Retail and archive pages often overlap.

Exact source/SKU checklist · Browse modules · Browse boards

Saved physical diagrams include ESP32 Core, UNO R3, Pro Micro, RC522, LCD1602 keypad shield, the archived PIR carrier, ESP-01 and an archived UNO kit board. Supporting images are labeled separately. The source ESP-01 reset label conflicts with its surrounding text and remains flagged. A source image is not electrical approval.

The newer USB-C ESP32 and 2.8-inch ESP32 display have separate records; generic CYD maps are not substituted. Current PIR and breadboard-power photos differ from the old articles linked by Micro Center, so their records remain separate. The ESP32-CAM article linked by the vendor returns Article not found. Kits still need constituent-by-constituent review. More historical SKUs and other retail categories may exist; this is not a complete Inland census.

DFRobot coverage

All 50 SKU pages in the official MCU category were reviewed, covering C3, C5, C5-U, C6, S3, P4, RP2040, RP2350, AVR, M0 and Intel Curie products. The broader official wiki category inventory has 807 distinct product URLs; it is a research queue, not 807 saved pinouts.

DFRobot inventory and reviewed SKU ledger · Official MCU category

Board schematics and manuals are saved where collected. PDFs named Datasheet sometimes describe only a processor, radio module or power IC; those links are explicitly component datasheets. The FireBeetle ESP32 document is a board user manual. DFR1139's N16R8 heading conflicts with its N16R2 title and diagram. C5 kit and antenna variants share source artwork, with its limited scope stated. Failed image hosts and missing diagrams remain gaps.

Mouser-discovered references

The first distributor-source batch adds TI LP-CC2651R3SIPA and LP-CC2651P3 LaunchPads, Microchip AVR-IoT WG AC164160, and Silicon Labs EFM32ZG-STK3200. Each retains the manufacturer PDF and rendered physical-map page. Expansion/debug header pages are supporting connector references. Silicon Labs marks the older board Not Recommended for New Designs. Products are indexed under their manufacturer, not Mouser.

Mouser's broader development-tool inventory remains to be reviewed. Further leads include NXP FRDM-i.MX93, Altera FPGA kits, Sensiedge and third-party carrier boards; no matching pinout is claimed until the exact reference is collected and inspected.

Verification and remaining work

Original asset hashes, manifest paths, reference types, source URLs, separate model identities and private-data scans are checked before publishing. HTTP availability is reported separately from model/revision review. Physical-map images are not a certification of every connector or electrical limit. The Power Desk did not gain unverified ratings; conflicting Inland CCS811 power figures are explicitly noted.

The collection and Windows library now use independent ZIP parts below GitHub's per-file limit. Extract every collection part into the same folder; Windows users keep every matching library part beside the installer. Existing published snapshots remain immutable.

Reference audit / snapshot 2026.09.6

Two newly tracked SparkFun ESP32 Thing Plus models (WRL-20168 USB-C and WRL-15663 micro-B) have distinct manufacturer pinout PDFs and rendered physical header sheets. Pro Micro RP2350, Thing Plus RP2350, and ESP32-P4-Function-EV-Board v1.5.2 gain supporting documentation. Photos and schematics are labeled as supporting references, not complete physical pinouts.

The board catalog now contains 2,407 tracked records and 3,011 reference entries, including 1,369 pinout image entries. There are also 486 maker records. Coverage remains incomplete; exact model/revision and source-review notes matter.

All manifest paths, archive CRCs and 3,335 packaged original-media hashes passed verification. Both generated maker catalogs now include the same pinout coverage metadata. Existing manufacturer rights and notices remain attached to their files.

Read the quality and coverage audit for source conflicts, missing documentation and review limits. This digital snapshot does not change First Edition / 2026 or the book.

First Edition / Pin references / 2026.09.5

Choose a tag to compare

@valleytechsolutions valleytechsolutions released this 26 Sep 05:51

First Edition / 2026 stays the editorial edition. This is digital collection snapshot 2026.09.5.

Adds 46 annotated manufacturer-model connector sheets, 58 manufacturer pin tables and 17 source-image attachments. 70 maker listings now have pin details. All 2,891 board/maker listings have a recorded pinout-coverage status.

Maker coverage: 151 listings with physical pinout sources, 30 with functions only, 288 with supporting references only and 17 without references. Board coverage: 875 with pinout sources, 3 with functions only, 811 with supporting references only and 716 awaiting documentation. Linked listings can describe the same hardware. No complete-device approvals or worldwide-completeness claim is made.

Manufacturer-model geometry supports 637 modeled contacts; purpose explanations based on signal names still need exact-board electrical review. Source tables contain 633 rows with evidence locators. Five dense or ambiguous models were withheld. Product photos remain supporting references, never substitutes for physical pinouts.

The 46 annotated Adafruit sheets and previews are CC BY-SA 3.0 adaptations with source commit, hashes, attribution and license records. Other artwork retains its per-asset terms. The book remains an unfinished First Edition draft.

Download and extract the collection ZIP. Verify SHA256SUMS.txt. The archive passed CRC, all 6,930 manifest paths, 3,373 original-file hashes and private-path checks. This is reference data, not a desktop installer. App 0.5.0 is released separately in black-wire-desktop.
