v0.8.14-alpha.1
Pre-release
Pre-release
⚠️ Alpha build — this release is for early testers only. Take a backup before upgrading, expect rough edges, and please report anything broken. Regular users should wait for the upcoming beta.
📺 Live TV
- Sources open where you actually watch. A playlist used to open on "All", in whatever order the provider sent — a wall of channels nobody scrolls. It now opens on the first category in your order, and holding OK on a category (long-press on a phone) offers Set as default, so a source can always start on Sports, News or your country. The choice is per source, survives refreshes, and travels with backups and phone-to-TV transfers.
- Put your categories and lists in order. Open a source under Settings → Live TV & DVR → IPTV Playlists and pick Category order to arrange its categories; Channel lists → Channel order does the same for Favorites and your saved lists. Both are remembered per source and included in backups.
- A reorder editor built for a remote. Select a row to pick it up, move freely, select again to drop it — with a marker showing the edge it will land on. ◀ ▶ jump ten rows at a time, holding OK offers Move to top, Move to bottom and an exact position, and past six rows a search field jumps to a row — or drops the row you are holding onto it. A long move now costs one navigation instead of one press per position. Phones keep drag and tap-to-place.
- Channel previews can be switched off. Previews stay on by default; turn them off under IPTV Playlists → Channel preview and nothing streams while you browse — the panel just shows the channel and what is on. Worth it if your provider only allows one or two connections.
🏠 Home
- One Continue Watching row, if you want it. New switches under Settings → Home & Display → Home Screen merge a provider's Movies and Series rows into a single row, newest first — separately for your own history, Trakt, Simkl and MDBList. All off by default, and your saved row order and hidden rows keep working exactly as before.
🎬 Playback
- Hold Play to pick a source. A normal press plays the way it always has; hold Play (long-press on a phone) and the source list opens instead, so you can choose a specific release or quality without changing any setting. On a series it asks for episode sources or season packs first.
🐛 Fixed
- Apple TV wiped My Watchlist on every restart. The launch-time preference rebuild treated the shelf as a disposable cache and cleared it. It is now exempt from that filter, capped so it always fits, and never deleted merely because a checkpoint skipped it.
- …and it was quietly dropping much more than the watchlist. The same name-pattern filter was clearing channel favourites, local resume positions, watch history and several settings toggles at every Apple TV launch. Preferences are now durable by default — only genuinely re-fetchable caches are cleared — and a full checkpoint can no longer fail every save after it.
- A failed episode lookup could stay failed. Episode source fetches made without a provider selected stuck in their error state instead of being retryable.
📄 Project
- Guides are back — debrify.tv/guides. Short how-tos that tell you where a setting lives, what it changes and what to expect. Everything new in this build has one.
