BOTWRecomp 0.1.4
- Game Mode now actually turns on: play in full screen on macOS 14+ and the 🎮 Game Mode icon appears in the menu bar. The game gets CPU and GPU priority, and Bluetooth controllers and AirPods respond faster. In 0.1.3 macOS never recognised the game, so Game Mode stayed off.
- Also in this release (new in 0.1.3): anti-aliasing (off, FXAA or NVIDIA FXAA) and shadow resolution options from Cemu's BotW Graphics pack.
Install the same way as before: open the DMG and run BOTWRecomp Installer to rebuild. Your saves and settings are kept.

BOTWRecomp 0.1.0: installer
First release of the BOTWRecomp installer: Breath of the Wild (Wii U, update v208 / 1.5.0) as a native Apple silicon Mac app, built on your Mac from your own dump. This download has no game files and no game code.
What you need
- A Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 13 or newer, about 3 GB free
- Apple's free Command Line Tools (the installer offers to install them, or run
xcode-select --install) - Your extracted dump (USA): base game
00050000101C9400, update v2080005000E101C9400, DLC0005000C101C9400(optional). Titles installed in Cemu work as they are.
Install
- Open
BOTWRecomp-0.1.0.dmgand double-click BOTWRecomp Installer. It isn't notarized: the first time, macOS blocks it. Click Done, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway (on macOS 14 and older: right-click > Open). - Click Find in a Folder… and choose the folder with your dump, or pick the base game, update and DLC one by one. The installer checks each one.
- Optionally import a save (for example Cemu's
mlc01/usr/save/00050000/101c9400/user/80000001). - Click Build Breath of the Wild. It takes about 5 minutes on an M-series Mac, then click Open Game.
The installer translates the game code to C, compiles it with Apple's clang and links it to the prebuilt runtime in the installer. Breath of the Wild.app goes to ~/Applications by default. Saves are in ~/Library/Application Support/BotW/save and logs in ~/Library/Logs/BotW. Details: tools/installer/README.md.
