Vastavik Learning v1.0.47 — Release Notes

Welcome to Vastavik Learning v1.0.47! This major security and privacy release hardens the platform against screenshots, screen recordings, emulator scraping (such as BlueStacks and virtual machines), and external camera leaks.

🔒 What's New & Security Hardening

1. 🛡️ Unconditional Zero-Delay FLAG_SECURE

  • Instant Window Protection: FLAG_SECURE is now enforced at the very first millisecond of MainActivity.onCreate() before any views inflate.
  • Removed Admin Bypass: Eliminated the previous check that stripped FLAG_SECURE for admin accounts. Hardware protection is now active 24/7 across every user role.
  • Physical Device Defense: Hardware screenshot button combinations (Power + Volume Down), third-party screen recording apps, HDMI / Miracast screen mirroring, and the Recent Apps task-switcher preview are completely blocked on all Android devices.

2. 🕵️ Forensic Anti-Leak Watermark

  • Tackling Host-Level & Camera Captures: Because PC emulators (like BlueStacks) run inside Windows, host-level tools or physical cameras pointing at a screen can bypass OS-level controls.
  • Subtle Diagonal ID Stamp: An unobtrusive, non-interactive repeating diagonal watermark containing the logged-in student's email and UID is rendered across the display.
  • Leak Traceability: Any screen capture, OBS stream, or mobile phone photo taken of the screen permanently burns the user's account identity into the frame, preventing unauthorized sharing of course materials.

3. 🖥️ BlueStacks & Virtual Machine Detection

  • Heuristic Environment Scanner: Detects execution within BlueStacks, Nox, LDPlayer, Genymotion, and QEMU virtual machines by checking hardware fingerprints, device models, and BlueStacks-specific filesystem paths.
  • Root & Tamper Detection: Inspects device build tags and su binary locations to protect against memory inspection and hooking frameworks.

4. ⚠️ NeoBrutalistic Emulator Security Alert

  • When running inside BlueStacks or a virtual environment, a high-contrast NeoBrutalistic warning banner alerts the user that content capture and unauthorized recording are strictly monitored and prohibited.

5. ⚙️ Privacy & Security Settings Card

  • Added a dedicated "Privacy & Security" section in Settings confirming active hardware screen capture protection and forensic watermark enforcement.
