One command to install and set up. The installers now do the whole first run: download the release and check it, write a config with fresh keys, pick a free port (8317, or the next one if CLIProxyAPI already uses it), start the server, check that it answers and open the dashboard. Running them again upgrades the binary and keeps your config and keys.

macOS and Linux:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vayungodara/cliproxy-rs/master/install.sh | sh

Windows (PowerShell):

irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vayungodara/cliproxy-rs/master/install.ps1 | iex

To also start it at login, add --service (curl ... | sh -s -- --service; on Windows, the scriptblock form with -Service shown in INSTALL.md). Your keys are in ~/.cliproxy-rs/keys.env, readable only by you. The installers are tested on Linux, macOS and Windows in CI. docs/INSTALL.md covers the options.

Changes

  • A "Get started" card on a new server's Overview: connect an account, point a tool at the proxy, send a test request. The test only asks the proxy for its model list, so it uses no quota.
  • Plan limits read the way the official tools show them. Claude: Current session, Current week (all models), Current week (Fable only) and so on, with Anthropic's unused placeholder buckets hidden. Codex: 5-hour limit and Weekly limit.
  • The routing strategy can be picked on the Configuration page.
  • soonest-reset routing (experimental) keeps track of each account's reset per window, so a new weekly reset is never missed when a provider reports its windows in pieces.

Upgrading: run the install command again; it keeps your config and keys. If you installed by hand, replace the binary and restart.

The launch film is attached in wide and square formats. Check downloads against SHA256SUMS.

First release.

cliproxy-rs is a Rust rewrite of CLIProxyAPI. It is one local server that lets Claude Code, Codex CLI, Amp, Cursor and other tools use the subscriptions and API keys you already have. It reads the same config.yaml and account files as CLIProxyAPI, so you can switch between the two in either direction.

Get started. On macOS or Linux:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vayungodara/cliproxy-rs/master/install.sh | sh

Or download the archive for your system below, unpack it and run cliproxy --config path/to/config.yaml. Then open http://127.0.0.1:8317/management.html. The getting started guide walks through it, and AI-SETUP.md has a prompt you can give an AI agent to set it up for you.

In this release

  • Claude and ChatGPT/Codex subscriptions, Gemini (API keys, Vertex, AI Studio), xAI, Kimi, Meta, Devin and any OpenAI-compatible upstream
  • A dashboard built into the binary: account health, plan limits as Claude Code and the Codex CLI show them, and setup help for each tool
  • Several accounts per provider with round-robin, weighted, fill-first or soonest-reset routing (soonest-reset is experimental), session affinity, retries and cooldowns
  • WebSockets, the v8 Management API, the usage queue and request logs
  • About 17 MB of memory at idle, against about 45 MB for the Go server (benchmarks)

Not ported yet: Antigravity, the terminal UI, plugin host callbacks and the plugin store, Home reporting and the pprof listener. The README lists them under Upcoming features.
