Complete rewrite of GrayLog for Visual Studio 2026.

Features

  • Rules as regular expressions in Tools > Options > GrayLog > General (one per line, # comments, 2: / 3: style prefix, (?i) for case-insensitive).
  • Three style slots GrayLog - Style 1..3 in Tools > Options > Environment > Fonts and Colors.
  • Multi-line calls are dimmed up to the closing parenthesis.
  • Tools > Toggle GrayLog, default shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G.
  • Settings apply to open documents without restart.

Installation

Close Visual Studio, then open GrayLog-2.0.0.vsix (or run VSIXInstaller.exe GrayLog-2.0.0.vsix).
Requires Visual Studio 2026 or later, amd64 or arm64.

Breaking changes

  • Visual Studio 2017/2019/2022 are no longer supported; the previous implementation is tagged legacy/2019.5.
  • The glyph margin marker was removed.
