Changes

  • No CPU use while waiting. Psion does not ponder, but the emulator used to run flat out while Psion waited for the GUI, taking a full CPU core. The emulation is now stopped until the next UCI command arrives, so an engine uses CPU only while it thinks. Search speed is unchanged.
  • Fix: underpromotions in info lines. Psion shows promotions without the piece, and a queen was assumed. When Psion considered a knight promotion, the rest of the line then contained an impossible queen move, which GUIs may reject as an illegal PV. The adapter now checks how pieces move in each line, and a promotion gets the first of queen, knight, rook and bishop with which the line can be played.
