1Snip v0.5.0-alpha Release Notes
Release date: June 28, 2026
Added
- History Map view for visually arranging saved snips with draggable cards, zones, notes, links, grouping, hidden items, mini overview navigation, and expanded map mode.
- History Canvas boards for combining multiple snips into one persisted workspace, adding more snips later, drawing on the board, and exporting the composed board as PNG or PDF.
- Saved Canvases smart view with composed thumbnails, rename, duplicate, delete, trash restore, and reopen actions.
- Canvas page controls for dark, white, or transparent backgrounds plus Free, 16:9, 4:3, Letter, and A4 page sizes.
- Canvas color tags, multi-select, bulk tagging, alignment, snap guides, keyboard nudging, zoom controls, layers, and annotation selection.
Improved
- Canvas thumbnails now render the real board content instead of placeholder frames that could look like missing objects.
- Canvas view controls now match the main app zoom rail with Fit, 100%, Width, slider, Layers, and Annotations controls.
- Deleted Canvas boards now move to Trash first, where they can be restored or deleted forever.
Fixed
- Canvas edge snapping now persists valid zero positions and no longer grows the Canvas when an item snaps exactly to an existing boundary.
- Canvas toolbar dropdowns now layer above Canvas snips.
- Draw stays enabled while History Canvas is open.
- Desktop update availability now shows an indicator inside Settings even when the update response is missing a platform-specific download URL.
Notes
- Alpha builds are unsigned, so macOS and Windows may show security prompts.
- Packaged app capture, Scrolling Stitch, and screen recording should be smoke-tested before promoting this build as latest.
