VaRest is an Unreal Engine plugin for HTTP and JSON. Requests, JSON objects, and JSON values are Blueprint types, so a REST call does not need C++.
The original plugin was created by Vladimir Alyamkin. That repository is archived. With his permission, Ziya Bahceci maintains this continuation.

- Construct Json Request, or Construct Json Request (Empty).
- Set the verb (
GET,POST,PUT,DELETE, or a custom verb) and the content type (JSON,x-www-form-urlencodedin the URL or body, or binary). - Fill the request object when the call has a body.
- Start it with Process URL, or with Apply URL when you want a latent node.
- Read the result on On Request Complete. On Request Fail runs when the HTTP call fails.
Call URL is the short form: URL, verb, content type, JSON object, and a callback.
Get Status reports NotStarted, Processing, Failed, Failed_ConnectionError, or Succeeded.
On develop, a request that is still running is cancelled when its world tears down. That includes stopping Play In Editor, changing levels, and exiting the game. The success and fail callbacks do not run in that case.
- HTTP and HTTPS, with the verbs and content types above
- JSON objects and values, including nested objects, arrays, and strings
- Completion events and latent nodes
- Helpers to build values, decode a string, and load JSON from a file
