  • A chosen ground now reaches the column headings and the scroll bar, not
    just the panel and the rows.     thiago.eec, MobileRead 374940 #30: picking
    "Always light" under a dark calibre left the headings and the scroll bar
    dark against a light panel, with a screenshot.

    A style sheet is applied by selector, and 0.4.1's named only
    QTreeWidget — so the tree's body obeyed it and the header and the scroll
    bar, which are separate child widgets, never heard about it. Both are named
    now, in the panel's own two colours rather than a third opinion about the
    editor.

    The heading was not a Windows problem, which is what we had written
    down.     Measured with calibre's own Qt by rendering the widget and reading
    the pixels back: under the real macOS style the heading stays #ececec
    with the palette alone, with the style sheet alone, and with both — and the
    same under Fusion, which is what Windows draws. So it had been wrong on
    every platform since the setting shipped, and it took a screenshot from
    someone else's machine to find it. DNSB's guess that it was an OS
    difference (#31) was reasonable, and so was ours, and both were wrong.

    The scroll bar was the part worth checking rather than assuming: naming
    QScrollBar hands the whole widget to Qt instead of the platform, which
    usually costs you the handle. Measured under Fusion, it does not — the
    groove goes from #e6e6e6, light on a dark panel, to the panel's own
    ground, and the handle's contrast against it rises from 1.15:1 to
    4.07:1    .

  • A new plugin icon, the same mark the Sigil plugin now carries. The old
    teal measured 2.00:1 on a dark editor ground; no single colour clears
    3:1 against both mid grey and black, because the two luminance windows do
    not overlap. Ink for light grounds and yellow for dark ones does, and the
    worst of five grounds measured is now 6.71:1.

Install

Download epubveri_calibre_v0.4.3.zip, then in the Edit Book editor:
Preferences → Plugins → Load plugin from file. Verify it first if you like:
