Juke 1.0.3
Linux
- A Queue drawer. A new Queue tab on the right edge of the window slides out with the songs you lined up (Play next and Add to the end of the queue). Drag them to change the order, see how long they play in total, and they are still there the next time you open Juke. Open it with the tab or
Ctrl+J. - A Favorites drawer. A Favorites tab right under it holds every song you mark as favorite: double-click to play, right-click to remove.
Ctrl+Kopens it. Each drawer has its own colour (blue for the queue, rose for favorites) in both the dark and light themes. - What comes next, on the display. The display now says which song plays after the current one.
- A "What's new" window shows once the first time you open this version.
- The Basic and Advanced equalizer windows now open centered.
Linux
Juke 1.0.2
Linux
- An Advanced equalizer. The amber Advanced button opens a bigger equalizer: a graph with its dB grid and a rack of one-tap controls for echo, reverb, clarity, shrill voices and tight bass, which tidy up a boomy or echoey room on top of your curve and your listening setting. Basic takes you back.
- A display like a real player. The box that shows the song is now a pane of glass over a vintage backlight, with a thin rim, and the light changes colour with your theme (amber, orange, soft green, soft aqua or soft rose; never neon).
- Listening settings for where you listen — small room, small / medium / large speakers, headphones, 5.1 and 7.1 — that sit on top of your own curve.
- Check for updates now also has a button in Settings ▸ General, besides the one in the menu.
- Fixed: the music was too quiet with the equalizer on. An equalizer for each song or group, drop songs on an open list, and the computer stays awake while music plays (from the previous build).
Linux
Juke 1.0.0
Linux
- Media keys and the desktop's controls. Play, pause, next and back work from your keyboard, headset and the media widget of GNOME, KDE and the rest. The volume slider is the computer's own volume, both ways.
- Crossfade. Pick how many seconds before a song ends the next one comes in. A green light under the volume shows it is on; click it to turn it off.
- An equalizer anyone can use. Every bar says what it changes (Deep bass, Voice, Clarity, Sparkle…), grouped as Bass / Middle / Treble. 35 presets, including Cumbia, Afrobeat and K-Pop.
- Lyrics in any language. Several free services are searched at once (English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and more); titles are cleaned of "(feat. …)" and "[Remastered]"; "Artist - Song" is understood; a busy service is asked again instead of failing; and what was found is kept for offline use.
- Playlists done right. A song already in a playlist is not added twice, and you are told. Press the ✓ in Add to playlist to take it out. The library shows which playlists hold each song. A song deleted from the playlist that is playing no longer plays again.
- Knows what can play. Songs on an offline server, or on a drive that is not connected, turn grey with a note ("Go online" / "Not connected"); playback skips them.
- A manual inside the app, with an index, in English and Spanish: press
F1. - Fixed: the music was too quiet with the equalizer on. libVLC's equalizer is 12 dB down when its preamp is 0, so a flat curve turned the music down by a quarter, even at 100 % volume. "Level +0.0" is now the song exactly as it is.
- An equalizer for each song, or for a group. Right-click one song, or several, ▸ Equalizer and give them a curve of their own; the equalizer window says when the song that plays has one, and the general equalizer comes back for the rest.
- Drop songs where they go. With a folder or a playlist open, drop songs (or files from your file manager) right on its list; the list is framed and says where they will go.
- The computer stays awake while music plays. Juke asks the desktop not to sleep or turn the screen off, and lets go when you pause or stop (Settings ▸ Playback).
- Bars beside the song that is playing and a green ✓ on those that already played. Back goes up the list even when you picked a song from the middle. The sidebar keeps its folders open and the list keeps its place. Settings reorganised into four tabs. Icons and menu entry that work on GNOME, KDE and the others. Shuffle never repeats a song at the turn of the list.
Android
- A manual inside the app, with an index, in English and Spanish: Settings ▸ Manual.
- The same 35 equalizer presets as Linux, including Cumbia, Afrobeat and K-Pop.
- Version 1.0, in step with Juke for Linux.
Linux
Juke 0.3.3
Linux
- Twenty colour themes, ten light and ten dark, from the palette button next to the ⋯ menu: Rose, Lavender, Mint, Sky, Peach, Sand, Lagoon, Coral, Sage, Lemon, Deep Forest, Ocean, Sunset, Neon, Ember, Arctic, Twilight, Amber, Rosewood and Graphite.
- Lyrics. Right-click a song ▸ Add lyrics… (paste or import a
.lrc) or Find lyrics…. A column on the right opens by itself when the playing song has lyrics and stays shut when it has none; synced lyrics light up the line being sung. Juke also reads a.lrcbeside the song and the lyrics in its tags. - Fixed: a song opened from outside your music folders no longer disappears from the library at the next scan.
- Fixed: links (support, the project page, e-mail) now open in your browser from the AppImage.
- Phones and tablets over USB. Plug one in and it appears in the sidebar, above Library, with its free space. Send songs from your own Juke folders (right-click a folder, drag it onto the device, or use Send a Juke folder…), from the song table, or from disk. A Juke folder becomes one folder on the device, with the songs directly inside, and what it already has is skipped. Songs come across with their cover. See what is on the device by artist, remove songs from it, and use Eject when you are done. It works on KDE Plasma, GNOME and any desktop, and asks which storage to use when the device has an SD card.
- A better equalizer. New presets for Dembow, Reggaeton, Salsa, Merengue and Bachata, and every preset is now played with its own headroom, so a boost never clips.
Android
- The time bar works on songs from your server. Airsonic sends internet-radio headers with every song and the player took each one for a live station, so it could not move forward or back. It can now. The bar also shows where you jump at once, follows your finger, and works while paused.
- Lyrics and karaoke. Search lyrics by the song's name or paste them, watch them follow the song, and switch to Karaoke: big lines and a countdown into each phrase.
- The same twenty colour themes, in Settings ▸ Colors.
- Sort folders and songs A → Z or Z → A, in the library and on the server.
- Lock screen and notification: tapping the notification opens Juke, and the player card and headset or Bluetooth buttons work.
- The music you copy over USB shows up by itself, and covers are read from the songs themselves on every Android version.
- The same equalizer presets as Linux, including the five above, and the curve is now averaged across the whole width of each band, so it is heard properly on a phone's five-band equalizer.
- Updates inside the app. Juke looks at GitHub when it opens and every 30 minutes, tells you you are on X, update to Y? with what changed, and downloads and checks the APK before Android installs it. A fixed build published under the same version number is recognised too. Switch it off in Settings ▸ Updates.
- Settings ▸ Help with Send feedback and the log, and "Juke by Vezzu Studio" at the bottom of the app.
The lyrics search sends the song's name, artist, album and length to lrclib.net, only when you ask for it or turn on the automatic option in Settings.

Linux
Juke 0.3.2
Linux
- Folders. The sidebar now reads Library, Servers, Radio, Playlists, Folders. Make folders, put folders inside folders, drag songs into them from the list, or drop files and whole folders from your file manager. There is no import step, and your files are never moved, renamed or deleted.
- Music.juke lives in your Music folder as a library you can open: one small database file, a
Foldersdirectory that mirrors your organization as shortcuts, and a short README. - Right-click a folder to rename, duplicate or delete it, sort it (A→Z, Z→A, by number, newest, oldest), play it, shuffle it or add it to the queue.
- Deleting a folder takes its songs out of Juke. Delete or move a folder in your file manager and Juke notices when you come back to it.
- Edit metadata for one song or many at once (
Ctrl+A,Ctrl+ click,Shift+ click), with cover art: choose, drop or remove an image. Only the fields you change are written. - Find duplicates is in the ⋯ menu, with Show for Favorites, Recently played and the queue.
- The update window tells you which version you are on, which one is out and what changed.
- Send feedback and View log in the ⋯ menu. A report opens as an issue here on GitHub for you to review; your home folder, passwords and server address are hidden first.
- The AppImage adds itself to your applications menu the first time it runs, without asking.
- Fixed: dragging a folder onto the sidebar was cancelled before it landed.
Android
- Songs on the card or in the phone's storage play again (they used to fail, only radio worked). Checked on a tablet with MP3, M4A, FLAC and Opus.
- Settings ▸ Help has Send feedback and the app's log.
- Closing the app releases the player cleanly.

Linux
- Carpetas.
