VibeVM 1.0.7
vibe self update now reliably reuses unchanged source builds even when the checkout contains independent nested Git worktrees. Local verification caches no longer invalidate the source fingerprint.
When nothing has changed, the command explains why no update is needed and shows the actual source directory. Console messages are in English. --force still requests a rebuild. Older source installations without a sealed fingerprint need one baseline build.
Regression checks passed on Windows and Linux, including the actual source checkout using an isolated temporary installation store. Five native distributions are included for Windows, Linux GNU/musl, and macOS Intel/Apple Silicon.
VibeVM 1.0.6
VibeVM 1.0.6 fixes repeated self-update work when the installation is already current.
- Source updates check a saved worktree fingerprint before Cargo. Unchanged inputs, provenance, profile, toolchain and verified binaries reuse the existing instance without rebuilding or copying.
- Binary updates still check release metadata, but an already-active verified generation avoids downloading the bundle, repeated activation, PATH writes and installation messages.
--forceandself reinstallretain deliberate refresh behavior. Actual source or release changes still update normally.- Older source instances without fingerprint evidence need one baseline build. Changes to ignored/generated inputs or configuration outside the Git root require
--force. - Unix mutation locks explicitly release inherited open-file-description locks when their guard ends.
Validated with Windows manager and freshness tests and 153 Linux manager tests. See CHANGELOG.md.
Distributions: Windows x86-64, macOS Intel/Apple Silicon, Linux x86-64 GNU/musl. Verify downloads through DISTRIBUTIONS.json.
VibeVM 1.0.5
VibeVM 1.0.5 fixes package removal leaving unnecessary transitive dependencies installed.
- Uninstall removes the selected direct package and dependencies no longer needed by the workspace, without downloading or reinstalling them.
- Shared dependencies, separately declared descendants and requirements in other workspace nodes remain installed.
- The full removal plan is confirmed and guarded, with rollback for staging/recording failures. Empty package containers are cleaned safely.
- Boot is regenerated from the remaining package graph; JSON reports all removed slots and package retention.
Verified on fresh copies of the 37-package FPF installation, plus Windows and Linux regression tests. See CHANGELOG.md.
