Vibe Wallet 1.9.0

1.9.0 adds custom priority fees, RPC failover, AI agent access with approvals, a transaction explorer, searchable history, staking validators and rewards, and six languages. It replaces 1.8.1, which was never published, so it also brings the 1.8.1 security changes listed below. If you use the browser extension, update it to 1.4.0 and pair it again (see below).

What's new in 1.9

  • Custom priority fee in the Send and Swap Confirm: Low, Normal, High, Turbo or a custom value. The vault refuses to sign any transaction with a priority fee above 0.05 SOL, whatever the desk asks for.
  • Multi-RPC failover: add fallback RPCs in Options → API → RPC endpoints and test them with Check RPCs. Reads move to the next endpoint on errors or rate limits. A fallback is only used when it is on the same cluster, and a signed transaction is never sent twice or signed again.
  • AI agent access through MCP (Options → Agents): each agent gets its own key, bound to one wallet. You choose Blocked, Ask me or Allowed per tool and set per-transaction and daily caps. Requests that need your OK wait in the approval queue. Every trade still needs the vault Confirm and your password. Revoke cuts off an agent at once.
  • Explore → Explorer: look up a signature, address or token mint to see status, balance changes, decoded instructions, accounts and logs. Explore → Network shows TPS, epoch progress and recent priority fees.
  • Wallet → History keeps your full history in a local database, with filters (type, token, date, counterparty, text) and CSV export.
  • Staking → Validators and Rewards tabs: browse validators (stake, APY, commission, skip rate) and see per-epoch rewards for each stake account. The vault now decodes every stake operation and warns when a transaction would change a stake account's lockup (SetLockup).
  • Readable program details: for dApp and WalletConnect requests, the vault Confirm also shows each Anchor program's instruction, arguments and named accounts, taken from the program's IDL. This is display only. The vault's safety checks run on the exact transaction bytes, as before.
  • Languages: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano and Português. Pick one in Options → General → Language; it applies on restart. The vault's transaction review text and safety warnings stay in English.
  • The Staking page now fits the default window.

Security changes from 1.8.1

  • Browser bridge is opt-in. The local bridge the browser extension uses (127.0.0.1:18789) stays off until you turn it on in Options → Security. The extension then has to be paired with a one-time code, and every request must carry the pairing token. Other websites are refused (the bridge checks the real Origin and Host headers, so DNS-rebinding tricks fail too), and the old 127.0.0.1:18790 fallback is gone.
  • Desktop approvals. Each website needs one Connect approval on the desk before it can ask for signatures, and you approve on the desk before a website send or an account switch goes ahead. Requests are rate-limited.
  • Vault checks for lookup-table transactions. vibe-vault decodes each dApp transaction itself and resolves its address lookup tables, so every account appears on the Confirm screen, including accounts loaded from a table. If a table can't be fetched or doesn't check out, signing is blocked. The drainer checks run on the full account list and again at the moment of signing.
  • Licensing notices. The desk is distributed under the VIBE Wallet End User License Agreement (EULA, also at https://vibewallet.net/eula). vibe-vault (vibe-vault, vibe-keys, vibe-mcp) is GPL-3.0-only, with source at https://github.com/vibewalletsol/vibe-vault. The GNOME Shell extension stays MIT. Releases up to 1.8.0 were labeled MIT.
  • Credit: vibe-vault is derived from Cinder by Gregory Nowakowski (https://github.com/gregnb/cinder), used under the MIT License. His copyright and permission notice ships unmodified in every package (LICENSES/MIT-Cinder.txt and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES). Several 1.9 features follow Cinder's designs (MIT), as credited in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.

Every package includes EULA, NOTICE, THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES, LICENSES/ and the vibe-vault COPYING (GPL-3.0).

Browser extension: update to 1.4.0 and re-pair

If you use the Vibe Wallet browser extension, update it to 1.4.0. Turn on the bridge in the desk (Options → Security), then pair the extension with the one-time code. Older extensions can't connect. In 1.4.0, websites can only request Connect and Sign. Wallet data, contacts, history, Send and account switching are only available in the extension popup.

Requirements

The .deb needs Ubuntu 24.04+ or Debian 13+ (glibc 2.39, GTK 4.10+, libadwaita 1.5+, Python 3.10+). The AppImage bundles its own libraries and also runs on older systems such as Ubuntu 22.04.
