Agent setup

  • The package ships an optional agent playbook, docs/playbook.md. It describes one setup that
works: role notes, a shared Dispatching procedure, headless workers, the agent limit and the
review loop. Recursive Board works the same without it.
  • wi setup ends with the playbook's recommended setup, the path of the installed playbook, and
wi doctor. An agent that runs setup shows that summary to the user, and says that it is
optional. Setup copies no role note and writes no AGENTS.md.
  • The skill tells agents to update with wi update, and to run wi update --dry-run first.

Added

  • wi setup prints the optional recommended agent setup after the vault choice. --yes prints
it too. wi setup --json --vault <path> prints one object with a recommendedSetup field.
  • wi doctor checks the install and the optional agent setup on request. Each check prints pass,
note or fix, and a fix prints the text to paste from the playbook. It writes nothing, and it
exits 1 only when the install is broken.
  • wi update installs the newest package, then refreshes both skill copies and the default
vault's plugin files from it. It prints the Agent setup changes since the old version.
    --dry-run writes nothing.
  • The npm package ships the plugin build: dist/main.js, dist/manifest.json and
    dist/styles.css.

Changed

  • A card whose holder is the reserved value agent now reads Agent, not "Any agent".

Recursive Board 0.4.0 adds a read-only Knowledge correction report and improves agent reminders and phone use.

  • Run wi trace to list source links, possible copied claims, and search gaps. The command keeps all vault files unchanged.
  • Run wi objective to read a card's Objective chain. Optional Codex and Claude hooks restore it after compaction.
  • Store shared vault settings in Recursive Board config.md. Preview and apply a legacy migration with wi config migrate.
  • Read dashboard review details within the phone screen width. Phone links open vault files in the current tab.
  • Write bare angle placeholders safely through the CLI while preserving Markdown links, code, autolinks, and HTML.

The release passes 573 tests, both TypeScript checks, and the plugin build. GitHub Actions verifies the published assets.

Install the CLI with npm install -g recursive-board@0.4.0. Download main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css below for the Obsidian plugin.

Reload Obsidian after installation. Restart Obsidian on phones after the plugin files sync.

Areas

  • Turn a card into an area, and an area back into a card, from the card menu or with wi area.
  • Boards and phones show areas. The area bar shows only live areas.
  • An area keeps its status. "Make card" keeps the area's status.
  • "Move to" ranks areas that have boards first.

Graph colours by area

  • Each card can carry a tag that names its areas from the top down, such as area/work/project.
  • Turn this on with "areaTags": true in .wi.json. It is off by default.
  • wi graph writes two colour groups for each area: a darker shade for boards and areas, and a lighter shade for cards.
  • wi new and the board's add row tag each new card. After wi move or wi area, wi counts stale tags. wi retag fixes them.

Cards

  • wi promote and wi demote move a card up or down one level. Areas refuse them.
  • Cards show promotion and checklist access. The children jump sits beside Promote.
  • Expanded cards fold done children into a count.
  • Configurable status colours.

Agents

  • wi claim refuses a blocked card.
  • An advisory limit on concurrent agents. The settings tab says that the limit counts agents.
  • Only children in doing inherit agents.
  • The board is easier for dispatched agents to use. Agents give each deliverable a child card.
