AWS Lambda Layer Release - PyODBC for MSSQL
We are excited to announce the latest release of AWS Lambda layer artifacts, enabling seamless integration with Microsoft SQL Server databases using the pyodbc library.
This release was inspired by the initial contributions of MMeffert, whose work laid the foundation for this update. While the original PR provided support for Python 3.13 with Amazon Linux latest, this release resolves compatibility issues with other Python versions, ensuring they work seamlessly with Amazon Linux 2.
Key Features:
Comprehensive Python Support:
- Python 3.9 to 3.12 now fully compatible with Amazon Linux 2.
- Python 3.13 support retained for Amazon Linux latest.
Enhanced ODBC Options:
Compatibility with both Microsoft ODBC Driver 17/18 and UNIXODBC 2.3.12.
Available Packages:
- Python 3.9 to 3.13 combinations for MSSQL18/17 with UNIXODBC2.3.12.
- Pre-built zip files for easy integration into AWS Lambda functions.
Automation and CI/CD:
A robust GitHub Actions pipeline ensures reliable builds and updates with every release.
For detailed instructions on integration, refer to the Usage section in the README.
Thank you for choosing our AWS Lambda layers for PyODBC and Microsoft SQL Server connectivity!
