FigureLoom v1.0.0 is the first public release of the free, open-source scientific figure editor.

- Local-first, page-based editing with no account required
- Editable text, shapes, arrows, connectors, illustrations, maps, equations, code windows, tables, and charts
- Project tabs, layers, templates, autosave, recovery, and downloadable project backups
- PowerPoint, spreadsheet, SVG, image, and presentation workflows

- Optional accounts, encrypted cloud projects, sharing, review comments, and live collaboration
- Loomy as an optional helper for creating an editable starting layout
- Hosted MCP access for compatible external assistants, with project-specific links, read-only or full access, separate destructive-action permission, normal history, and revocation controls
FigureLoom remains usable without Loomy, MCP, an account, or a cloud project.
