tracequest 0.1.0
First public release.
tracequest reads the session logs that coding agents already write to disk (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Grok, Droid) and turns them into a local UI: per-session timelines, tool calls and errors, token and cost breakdowns, and full-text search across all your history. It can also launch and steer agent runs through tmux, and pull sessions from other machines over SSH.
Try it
git clone https://github.com/viktor-com/tracequest.git
cd tracequest
npm install
npm run demo # sample sessions at http://localhost:7777npm start browses your own sessions. Needs Node.js 22.5+. Rust is optional (faster indexer).
Or install a prebuilt tarball from the assets below:
npm install -g ./tracequest-0.1.0-<platform>.tgz (macOS arm64, Linux x64).
Defaults worth knowing
- Localhost only.
servelistens on127.0.0.1. It has no login and can launch agents, so read SECURITY.md before using--bind. To share the hub, use a private network (Tailscale, WireGuard) or an authenticating proxy; see docs/hub-deployment.md. - No telemetry, no unprompted network calls. The only outbound calls happen on request:
share,import cursor-cloud,import ssh,limits, andserve --usage-limits.
What's in it
- Session browser and per-session view: timeline, chapters, tool usage, errors, retries, cost
- Search and filter expressions across every source (
tool:Read AND error, host:gpu, …) insights: cross-machine view of where agents fail and wait- Hub mode (
serve --hub): read-only, secret-redacting view for a team - Launch, steer and continue agent runs from the browser
- Optional Rust sidecar for indexing large histories
MIT licensed. Not on npm yet.
