v1.23 & Xray-core@v26.9.30
Release Notes — v1.23
Magic V2Ray version 1.23 introduces a comprehensive set of improvements centered around network safety, restart reliability, and a redesigned DNS management experience.
The update brings a new fail-closed mechanism for network restarts. Previously, tearing down and rebuilding routing rules could occasionally cause short windows of unrouted traffic leaks. Version 1.23 solves this by introducing a dedicated hard restart flow paired with routing safeguards. A blackhole route in table 100 ensures that marked traffic is safely dropped if the TUN interface ever disappears, while temporary firewall hold rules block non-Xray traffic during service reloads. Additionally, the cleanup path automatically flushes table 100 and clears stale gates to prevent leaks from any previously interrupted restarts.
DNS configuration has also been completely overhauled to give users a much cleaner interface and finer control. The old legacy DNS and VPN DNS settings have been replaced by a modern, dedicated DNS servers modal editor. This interface provides individual, manageable lists for direct DNS resolvers, domains using direct DNS, and proxy DNS servers, complete with bulk editing and quick item controls.

v1.22 & Xray-core@v26.9.30
Release Notes — v1.22
Magic V2Ray version 1.22 focuses on granular network controls and DNS improvements, giving users precise control over local traffic while ensuring reliable resolution for critical local destinations.
This update replaces the previous, all-or-nothing LAN bypass option with fine-grained LAN bypass controls. Users can now individually toggle specific IPv4 and IPv6 subnet ranges—such as RFC 1918 private networks, Carrier-grade NAT, or link-local subnets—to choose exactly which destination ranges skip Xray and connect directly, and which are routed through the proxy tunnel. To prevent routing loops and avoid breaking internal proxies, loopback destinations remain strictly bypassed and cannot be unticked.
v1.21 & Xray-core@v26.9.30
Release Notes — v1.21
Recent updates to Xray-core introduced a strict security policy that automatically blocks unencrypted VLESS outbound connections pointing to external addresses. In response to community concerns regarding local setups and specific routing needs, this release introduces a dedicated loopback tunnel workaround. When plain VLESS outbounds are detected, the system rewrites their destination to dedicated local loopback addresses (127.18.x.x) via an internal dokodemo-door proxy tunnel, allowing raw TCP traffic to reach remote servers safely without breaking core compatibility. To protect the system, iptables rules hardens this loopback range to prevent local apps from fingerprinting or probing the underlying tunnel.
Alongside the internal routing rework, the UI now actively alerts users when selecting unencrypted VLESS nodes, ensuring transparency before establishing plain connections. Furthermore, default routing settings have been refined by standardizing domain strategy handling to AsIs, avoiding unnecessary DNS lookups when matching rules.
v1.20 & Xray-core@v26.9.30
Release Notes — v1.20
Magic V2Ray v1.20 brings significant feature additions, system-level enhancements, and UI improvements focused on application control, network compatibility, and log handling.
The release introduces the Exclude Apps feature, allowing specific applications to bypass the proxy entirely and connect directly at the OS level. The system handles list management through the WebUI, dynamically updates IPTables rules, and uses inotify to automatically process app installs or uninstalls in real time.
IPv6 routing capabilities are expanded with support for IPv6 ULA Decoy. When active, a local-only Unique Local Address is advertised on the active interface so applications recognize IPv6 connectivity even on IPv4-only physical networks, keeping IPv6 socket support intact while funneling traffic safely through Xray.
Log handling receives a dedicated daemon service, moving away from simple tail operations to provide smooth, real-time log streaming and memory-safe buffer management. The log view in the WebUI is upgraded with adjustable font sizing, word-wrap toggles, and improved styling.
Additionally, outbound TLS configurations now support peer certificate verification by name (verifyPeerCertByName), and ECH configuration parameters have been extended to Hysteria2 links. The network latency monitor has also been updated to operate directly with the lifecycle of its WebUI tab, automatically running when opened and stopping upon leaving.
v1.19.1 & Xray-core@v26.9.9
Release Notes — v1.19.1
Support routing rules with outbound Custom node instead of proxy/direct/block
Release Notes — v1.19
Direct Cloudflare WARP Account Generation
This release introduces direct Cloudflare WARP account registration natively integrated into the interface. Users can now generate a fresh, free Cloudflare WARP account directly against Cloudflare's API with a single click in the WireGuard node settings, eliminating the need for external tools like wgcf-cli. Key generation is handled natively via Xray, with credentials, server keys, and reserved bytes derived automatically and populated into the configuration fields. The interface copy and localized translation strings across all supported languages have been updated to reflect these simplified management options.
Header Redesign and Streamlined Service Controls
The web user interface receives structural enhancements to improve layout clarity and interaction efficiency. Core engine controls, including the engine toggle actions, have been relocated into the top header bar for consistent access across all management tabs. The header structure has been refined with flexible row wrapping and improved text truncation for device status labels, ensuring clean presentation on narrow screen dimensions.
Improved TUN Interface Setup and Error Handling
Network initialization logic has been reinforced to prevent partial engine starts and hanging states when the TUN interface fails to initialize. The TUN device configuration routine now enforces strict status checks and fails fast with an explicit error log if the interface does not appear within the increased retry window. These checks are integrated into both the initial routing setup and service restart procedures to guarantee system stability.
Asynchronous UI Loading Updates
User interface responsiveness during background operations has been enhanced across several interactive flows. Operations such as active IP verification, subscription fetching, and routing preset updates now utilize asynchronous loading state handling. This prevents UI thread blocking and ensures loading overlays display smoothly during network requests.
v1.18.2 & Xray-core@v26.9.9
Release Notes — v1.18.2
- Add per-upstream routing for DNS module
- Fix start in
action.sh
Release Notes — v1.18.1
Version 1.18.1 introduces critical networking and configuration adjustments designed to improve IPv6 routing stability and prevent local network detection issues. In this update, the FakeDNS IPv6 address pool has been migrated from the previous Local Unique Address space to the dedicated IETF benchmarking range at 2001:2::/48. This change prevents modern browsers, such as Chromium-based applications, from triggering unexpected local network permission prompts when establishing proxy connections.
Additionally, IPv6 FakeDNS pools are now enabled unconditionally by default rather than depending on explicit IPv6 configuration flags. To maintain clean traffic handling across mobile access points, incoming IPv6 DNS packet dropping on port 53 for hotspot interfaces has been disabled. The service routing scripts have also been streamlined by cleaning up redundant subnet bypass rules that are no longer required under the updated address scheme.
Release Notes — v1.18
Release v1.18 introduces flexible DNS controls, enhanced multi-server configurations, and improved settings management for a smoother proxy and routing experience.
A major feature in this release is configurable DNS Hijacking. Users can now choose whether port 53 DNS traffic from local inbounds is handed over directly to Xray's internal DNS module or forwarded outward. Along with this change, DNS port 53 traffic is no longer unconditionally dropped over IPv6 firewall rules, preventing unnecessary packet loss and keeping IPv6 resolution smooth.
The Foreign DNS module has been upgraded to support multiple fallback servers simultaneously. Users can now input a comma-separated list of resolvers, allowing Xray to distribute and failover foreign domain queries across several DNS endpoints. Additionally, local DoH DNS entries for major Vietnamese ISPs (Viettel, Mobifone, and VNPT) have been included in the default fallback list.
To improve usability in the Web UI, advanced Xray DNS engine parameters can now be configured directly, such as caching controls, stale query behavior, and system hosts integration. A new "Reset to defaults" button has also been added to the Traffic Settings tab, allowing users to restore default traffic parameters easily without affecting custom network interfaces, routing rules, or hosts overrides.
v1.17.2 & Xray-core@v26.9.9
Release Notes — v1.17.2
Add configurable Xray DNS engine options: The Traffic Settings tab now has a "DNS engine options" section for tuning Xray's built-in DNS module. You can disable the DNS cache, serve stale (expired) cache entries with a configurable lifetime, disable fallback queries, disable fallback when a server's domain list already matched, use parallel queries, and append the device hosts file. Parallel query is enabled by default to speed up resolving, and all other options keep Xray's defaults.
Release Notes — v1.17.1
Add local DoH DNS entries for Vietnam carriers
Release Notes — v1.17
Xray Module v1.17 introduces flexible control over DNS query strategies by upgrading from the legacy IPv6 preference toggle to a full query strategy configuration. Users can now explicitly choose between UseIP, UseIPv4, UseIPv6, and UseSystem options to fit their specific network environments, while existing configurations smoothly migrate without breaking behavior.
This release improves host management and user experience with a dedicated reload button for custom hosts. The web interface now allows quick reloading of host definitions modified outside the app without losing pending changes. Furthermore, an indicator has been added to provide instant visual feedback during public IP checks.
Routing rules management is now more intuitive with the addition of dedicated reordering controls. Users can adjust the priority of custom routing rules directly in the interface with automatic background persistence to keep configurations synchronized.
Network flexibility has been expanded with a new setting to route LAN and private network traffic through Xray while keeping local loopback traffic isolated. Under the hood, background connectivity tests during interface initialization have been cleaned up for cleaner startup behavior.
v1.16 & Xray-core@v26.9.9
Release Notes — v1.16
Magic V2Ray v1.16 brings several key updates to improve navigation and core networking features. The application now includes a dedicated Network Settings tab where you can easily manage OS-level routing switches such as Interface Mode, IPv6 Toggle, Allow Tethering, and Bypass Network Interfaces. Saving changes in this tab automatically restarts the engine so that iptables and system routing rules apply immediately.
In addition, a new About tab has been added to display the current version, description, author information, and open-source project credits, alongside useful resource links for support and updates. Navigation on mobile devices and smaller screens is now much easier thanks to a new compact dropdown menu that replaces the previous top horizontal bar. This menu also fully supports keyboard navigation using standard control keys.
Several system fixes and performance improvements have also been implemented in this release. The IPv6 routing logic was refined so that non-proxied traffic is no longer accidentally blocked.
v1.15 & Xray-core@v26.9.9
Release Notes — v1.15
We are excited to announce the release of Magic V2Ray v1.15! This update introduces a dedicated Custom Hosts management tab, full support for custom blocklists such as AdGuard and AdBlock, file path storage at /data/adb/magic_v2ray/hosts, and live outbound IP checking directly from the status badge.
What's New
Dedicated Custom Hosts Tab
The Web UI now features a dedicated Custom Hosts tab, allowing you to easily view, search, add, edit, and delete domain-to-IP mappings. Custom rules are saved and loaded directly from /data/adb/magic_v2ray/hosts using the standard /etc/hosts format (IP hostname), making them human-readable and easy to manage manually or via external scripts. The interface includes an in-memory search bar and lazy-loaded rendering to maintain smooth performance even when handling large AdGuard or AdBlock lists. All entries are seamlessly merged into Xray's dns.hosts configuration on top of default resolutions, with support for removing built-in defaults using the ! prefix.
Live IP Check & Active Node Badge
The header status badge now displays the label of your active proxy node, built-in direct routing, or custom configuration mode. By simply tapping the status badge, the app queries icanhazip.com via Xray's SOCKS5 test inbound to immediately verify your active public IP address.
