• I have checked if my issue has already been reported, and I am certain that my problem has not already been addressed.

What problem did you encounter?

From the date of this message I am experiencing extreme FPS drops that are almost like if the client freezes for s fraction of a second almost everytime.

This problem is probably related with textures and only happens on Vulkan rendering being OpenGL a solution for this but yet it doesn't give the same FPS performance as the old versions did with Vulkan

I have a similar issue. In every roblox instance my game stutters and freezes. It seems to be correlated to my cpu as in the roblox performance stats menu my CPU spikes every time my game freezes. This is only a problem on sober and hasn't happened on any other games.

Have most likely the same issue, happens on almost all games ehm, experiences (does not happen on any other game other than sober)
Has been occuring for a while now for me, maybe over a month

Only lags on Vulkan, OpenGL unaffected

Specs - Linux Mint 22.1 Xia (kernel 6.8.0-58-generic), Ryzen 7 5700X, Radeon RX 6700XT, 16GB RAM total (2x8 sticks)

May be something involving particles, as there are always some kind of particles being rendered when the stutter occurs

EDIT:

fixed it by running amdgpu-install --uninstall and restarting the system, which forces the kernel drivers (this may also be a issue with specifically the open source vulkan build available thru amdgpu-install, not sure, will post an update soon if the proprietary PRO Vulkan doesnt have this issue) it is not, see below

for anyone else running into this problem with an amd gpu, this most likely will work

Nope, running amdgpu-install --vulkan=pro to install the proprietary vulkan implementation has returned the stutters. Seems like the only fix is uninstalling the amdgpu-install drivers (in the sober troubleshooting page it does say not to install drivers from the source, but it is under not detecting a gpu, so i initially disregarded it)

This should probably be closed now, unless this solution doesn't work for OP

I was having a similar issue. This may seem like a bit of a stretch, however what I did was change my cable type from HDMI to DisplayPort. Perhaps you could change the cable.
