Prune 1.7.0
Pre-release
Pre-release
Beta. Becomes stable once it meets the stability criteria. For everyday use, prefer the latest stable version.
Prune now keeps running in the background, like WireGuard. Closing the window or choosing Quit in the Dock hides it and removes its Dock icon, while the monitor stays in the menu bar.
Install
- Download Prune-1.7.0.dmg (under Assets) and drag Prune to Applications.
- On first launch, allow it in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Open Anyway, or in Terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Prune.app - Follow the Full Disk Access assistant.
Verify the file: shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS in the folder where you downloaded both files.
macOS 14 or later · Apple silicon and Intel. The interface follows the system language (English or Portuguese).
Changed
- Closing the main window, choosing Quit in the Dock or pressing ⌘Q now sends Prune to the background: the Dock icon disappears and the menu bar monitor keeps working. Open it again from the menu bar or from Launchpad.
- To really quit Prune, use the power button in the menu bar monitor. If you turn the menu bar monitor off in Settings, Prune quits normally as before.
