v2.16.0

Released 2026-09-30

Your 5-hour and weekly quota now live in the status bar, the Quota card points you to claude.ai's free limit reset when you're near a cap, and Config and Account open on what matters instead of every section at once.

✨ Features

  • account: show live quota in the status bar (679a27f)

The status bar item was a static "Claude Code Manager" label. It now reads 5h 72% · 7d 40% from the local statusline cache, tinted amber from 75% and red from 90%, with reset times in the tooltip. No network call, no OAuth token.

A window whose reset time has passed shows "reset" rather than its stale figure, and a capture from before an account switch falls back to the plain label. A one-minute recheck catches both while no session is rendering.

  • account: link to claude.ai's free limit reset near a cap (7af58e0)

Eligible plans occasionally get a free 5-hour or weekly limit reset, but Anthropic offers it only in claude.ai and Claude Desktop, with no API. Triggering it from here would mean replaying claude.ai's private endpoint with your OAuth token, which the Consumer Terms and Claude Code's credential policy forbid. So once either window reaches 90%, the Quota card links to claude.ai's usage settings, and you press the button on Anthropic's own page.

  • webview: open Config and Account on what matters, rest folded (0cc565a)

Config used to open with every section expanded: settings, permissions, tab layout, settings history and brain backup in one narrow column. It now opens on Settings alone, with the rest a click away. Usage's breakdown blocks (models, projects, tools, MCP) fold too, and their heading counts still say what's inside.

  • site: add the one-minute launch video tour (3565e87)

claudecodemanager.vishalg.in has a one-minute tour of the sidebar. It's self-hosted rather than a YouTube embed, so the page that promises zero telemetry sets no tracking cookies. The video is website-only and does not ship in the extension.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • sessions: stop showing other projects' sessions in a folderless window (ad6f9fe)

With no folder open, "This Project" couldn't tell "workspace not reported yet" from "no folder", so it fell back to every project, and Restore and Resume treated other projects' sessions as this one's. Now This Project matches nothing, Restore has nothing to reopen, every session offers "Open project", and resume opens the session's own project instead of resuming in the empty window.

  • mcp: re-enabling a disabled project server takes effect (734507b)

A project server disabled once could never be shown as enabled again: the disabled state was stamped onto objects shared with the .mcp.json cache, and the toggle rewrites a different file, so the stale stamp stuck.

  • sessions: detect worktrees created since the last refresh (9931cf5)

The git worktree list was cached until a reload, so sessions in a worktree Claude created afterwards fell through to the main worktree, and a branch switch kept reporting the old branch.

  • mcp: keep the re-auth banner inside the panel (82f656c)

The banner ran 28px past the panel edge, which clipped its "Open /mcp" link.

📦 Build / CI

  • add the brag-slim skill and ignore .DS_Store (894207a)

v2.15.1

Released 2026-09-20

The sidebar's colours now hold up on every theme — row icons, chevrons and meta text were washed out on Dracula, Solarized Light and others, and the status chips were tuned for dark backgrounds only.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • styles: make the colour layer readable on every theme (631cced)

Row action glyphs, collapse chevrons, palette icons and meta text were barely visible on a number of themes. One token was responsible: it resolved to VS Code's disabledForeground — the lowest-contrast colour a theme ships — while eighty call sites used it for UI that is not disabled at all. Those call sites are quiet text and now use the colour VS Code provides for quiet text.

Two more colours were borrowed from the wrong context. The tab strip took the panel's title colour, which themes tune against a different background: Dracula puts #6272A4 there, 3.36:1 on its sidebar, and the strip's icons came out barely-there purple. As sidebar chrome it now takes the sidebar's own text colour — 5.56:1 on the same theme. Three greens borrowed the Test Explorer's pass glyph behind three different hardcoded fallbacks.

Separately, the status hues were a dark-theme palette applied unchanged on white, where blue measured 2.53:1, amber 2.10:1 and orange 2.03:1. Light themes now get a light-surface palette, and every hue clears 4.5:1 against its own background. Also fixed: a warning-banner orange hardcoded six times across two files, five fallbacks that rendered white-on-white on a light theme, and rules that dimmed an already-quiet colour a second time.

Theme colours are used exactly as shipped — no contrast adjustment of a value the theme author chose — so the panel agrees with the editor around it.

  • terminal: drop the custom tab icon (e5db0d7)

  • sessions: persist collapsed sections for Active, Today and Yesterday (95d87eb)

Collapse state was already persisted, but the relative labels were filtered out of it on both the read and write paths. Those three sections hold most of the list, so collapsing anything that mattered never survived a reload. Collapsing a section is a statement about the section, not about the sessions sitting in it right now.

Released 2026-09-20

One new switch: keep your session names on the terminal tabs this extension opens, instead of watching a running claude replace them with a version number.

✨ Features

  • terminal: opt-in setting to keep session names on terminal tabs (a2c44b2) — VS Code 1.106+ defaults terminal.integrated.tabs.allowAgentCliTitle to true, and when a terminal is running an agent CLI (claude is on VS Code's own list) the tab title comes from the CLI while the name an extension set is ignored outright. So a session tab lost its name the moment claude started: you saw the CLI's session title, or — before its first title and after it exits — the process name, which is the folder the bundled CLI runs from, a bare version number like 2.1.276. No extension can opt a single terminal out; titleTemplate is a profile-only field that vscode.TerminalOptions does not expose, so the only lever is a global VS Code setting, which is yours to pull. Tick Claude Code Manager › Terminal: Keep Session Names (Settings → search "Keep Session Names") and the extension holds the two tab-title settings at the pair that works: session names on the tabs it opens, Claude Code's own title still on terminals you open yourself. Untick it and everything it displaced goes back, including a value you had set there first. It ships no configurationDefaults — nothing changes for anyone who leaves it off.

📚 Documentation

  • readme: explain the 2.1.276 terminal tab and how to opt out (dbfc3ff) — a FAQ entry covering what that tab label actually is, when it appears, the three steps to turn on session names, and the two settings to write by hand if you would rather not use the switch.

Session tabs get their identity back: renames you make in Claude Code's own UI now show up here, an unnamed session no longer opens a nameless terminal, and the terminal icon finally renders where the terminals actually open.

✨ Features

  • sessions: honour renames made from Claude Code's own UI (57a4146) — Claude Code's Rename session tab does not write the name anywhere this extension was looking. It sends rename_session over its control channel and the CLI persists the result into the transcript as {"type":"custom-title","customTitle":…}, with a last-wins merge rule. We only read the older /rename command shape, the generated ai-title, and the auto-summary — so a session you renamed over there kept showing its stale generated title in the sidebar, the detail page, and the terminal tab. Both readers now parse custom-title, and it ranks directly below the extension's own rename: an explicit rename from any host outranks every generated title, while a name you set here still wins.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • sessions: stop an unnamed session from opening an unnamed terminal (428aa5d) — Session.name is a plain string that is empty for a session no fallback ever named, and the terminal-name helper guarded it with ??, which only catches null/undefined. The empty string went straight through to createTerminal, and VS Code treats an empty name as no name at all — so the tab fell back to the process name, which for the bundled CLI is the version directory it runs from (2.1.276). It now falls back to the short session id, the same value the list row uses.
  • terminal: show the tab icon on editor-area terminals (593f65b) — the icon was passed as a Uri to the bundled SVG, but TerminalEditorInput.getIcon() returns the terminal's icon only when it is a ThemeIcon. A URI icon renders in the panel's tab list and is silently dropped in the editor area — which is where these terminals open by default, so in practice the icon never appeared. It is now a codicon, which renders in both places.

v2.13.0

Released 2026-09-18

Unchecking a tab in Config no longer leaves the panel blank — and when something else does go wrong, the panel now tells you what happened instead of dying silently.

✨ Features

  • diagnostics: make a broken panel say what happened (09b6f52) — a webview has no console within reach, so any failure outside the render tree was invisible: the panel went blank and the only evidence was that it went blank. Every failure path now lands in one bounded log — render crashes, escaped exceptions, rejected promises, scripts that fail to load, rejected host messages, and handler throws on both sides — mirrored to Output → Claude Code Manager, where it survives the panel. A crash paints the message and stacks into the panel, readable and selectable, and leads with Reload panel so recovery comes before reporting. Claude Code Manager: Report a Problem (Command Palette, or the crash banner) assembles environment, diagnostics and the session's errors into one report and offers to copy it, open a prefilled GitHub issue, open it as a document, or show the log — the extension still makes no network calls of its own. A health check after each settings push catches the last case: a panel that has died answers nothing, and that silence is recorded.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • webview: stop a checkbox click from scrolling the panel out of view (a3e5aca) — clicking a checkbox in a long panel, such as Config's tab list, left the panel blank. Nothing crashed: the app was still rendering, parked ~1300px above the viewport. The hidden <input> behind each checkbox is absolutely positioned and its label never established a containing block, so it resolved against the document; in a scrolled panel the lower rows sit near y=2250, which handed the document that much scrollable overflow. Clicking the label focuses the input, the browser scrolls the document to reveal it, and the app — exactly one viewport tall — leaves the screen with no scrollbar to get back. The same jump explains rows toggling the wrong tab: the document moved between mousedown and mouseup, so the click landed one row off. Fixed at the source, with a guard that snaps the viewport back should anything else ever scroll it. Verified across all twelve tabs: focusing every control on Config now moves the viewport 0px, where one focus previously moved it 1484px.
  • sessions: show search results as one flat list (eb874de) — the Active / Today / Pinned / date sections answer "what have I been working on", which is not what you are asking once you type a query. Under search they only fragmented the results — a three-hit search could arrive as three one-row sections, and a collapsed section could hide a match entirely. Results now keep the filtered order: pinned first, then most recent.
  • sessions: re-run transcript search once the index finishes building (38b4d59) — a search typed while the full-text index was still warming returned nothing and stayed empty. It now re-runs itself the moment the index is ready.

💅 UI / Styling

  • config: stack the deprecated-key notice instead of squeezing it (b1eb08f) — the notice sat beside its button in a row. At the sidebar's real width that left the text a ~120px column wrapping to six lines while the button pushed past the panel edge, and the key name broke the sentence it sat in. The key now leads on its own line, the explanation follows, and the button sits under both.

🔧 Refactoring

  • sessions: remove the unread marker (8040885) — the dot tracked whether a transcript had grown since you last opened it, which is not the same as whether there is anything worth reading, and it was wrong often enough to be noise.
