Installing

If this is your first time using the Melon Mix, follow the "How to install for the first time" guide down below. If you want to keep your save files from older Melon Mix versions, follow the "How to upgrade from an older version" guide right here:

How to upgrade from an older version

If you aren't using automatic mapping, and want to use the joystick to open the new game settings, go to Config -> Input and hotkeys, open the Add-ons tab, and bind a key to the "Open settings" entry. Note: the chosen key will only work during the intro, the title screen, and the ingame config menu, so we recommend using Square (Playstation) / X (Xbox) / X (Steam Deck) / Y (Switch Pro).

Now, on Windows, replace MelonMix.exe with the newest one.

And finally, on Steam Deck, replace MelonMix.exe (if you are using the 1.5+2.5 collection) and MelonMix.AppImage with the newest one, provided in this release. Then right click the AppImage, go to "Properties", then go to the "Permissions" tab and check the "Allow executing file as program" checkbox.

Migrating from versions below 0.9.0
