Release list
ToolsMonk - PDF, Image, Text & More 1.1.12
Donations now open in your browser.
Choosing Donate from the app menu opens toolsmonk.com in your default browser instead of loading the page inside the app. The payment step goes with it: PayPal and Razorpay can no longer load in an app window, so card details are entered in the browser you already trust, with its own address bar and padlock.
Smaller fixes
- The window and taskbar title now reads
ToolsMonk Desktop - ToolsMonkwith a plain hyphen. - Reworded the "update is downloading" dialog so it reads properly.
Behind the scenes
This is the first build also packaged for the Microsoft Store. That work changes nothing in this installer; the Store listing is still going through review.
About the install warning
This build is not code signed, so Windows SmartScreen will show "Windows protected your PC" the first time you run the installer. Choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer does not ask for administrator rights.
ToolsMonk 1.1.11
New sidebar that stays with you on every screen, including inside a tool.
System / Light / Dark appearance, following Windows by default.
A real About screen: what the app is, how many tools there are, and which few send anything to a server.
Search, Privacy Policy, Terms and Donate added to the menu.
Updated Electron, bringing current Chromium security fixes.
ToolsMonk 1.1.10
No more "unknown publisher" prompt during install.
The installer no longer requests administrator rights. ToolsMonk installs into your user profile, so Windows has no reason to show the User Account Control prompt at all. In Apps & Features the publisher reads "ToolsMonk".
Note on what this does and does not change: the prompt is gone because nothing asks for elevation, not because the app is signed. This build is still unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may still warn on first download. Removing that needs a code-signing certificate.
If you installed an earlier version for all users, this one installs alongside it in your user profile; uninstall the old entry from Apps & Features if you see two.
Also in this release: Electron 42.4.1 -> 44.0.0 (two majors of Chromium security fixes) and main-process hardening.
ToolsMonk 1.1.9
Electron updated 42.4.1 -> 44.0.0, which brings two majors of Chromium security fixes to the app shell.
Also in this build: main-process hardening, and the desktop build toolchain moved from npm to pnpm (no user-visible effect).
Note: as with previous releases this installer is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen and a "Publisher: Unknown" prompt still appear during install. Removing those needs a code-signing certificate.
