Commit: 330de12a8e03c216d156f6e595ef6991222857fe. Production package: d4f8caa5b96e09fe; dev package: ea6a8c076da656d7. Gameplay protocol: 110; relay protocol: 10.

Merged contributions from @NeptuneTheGoat in PRs #67, #68, #69 and #70:

  • Hold use to pick up weapons; tap use+reload to reload. Fix controller crouch/prone timing and jump-crouch.
  • Correct Black Ops II weapon reflection probes on IW4/IW5/T5 maps.
  • Slide down steep slopes and reduce sideways ladder drift.
  • Apply fall damage through game scripts and enable Sleight of Hand, Steady Aim and Cold-Blooded Pro effects.

Validation: Linux play build, Windows cross-build, formatting and publish-check. Brief Linux IW4 Rust, IW5 Paris and T5 Jungle bot gameplay loaded scripts, spawned the player plus three bots, ran gameplay and exited normally within 60 seconds per map. Release hashes and ZIP payload CRCs passed. Production and dev update feeds were published with their existing certificates; served manifests and full blobs are verified over TLS.

Windows gameplay, controller hardware, actual Windows self-update, visual reflection comparison and full two-client scenarios were not exercised. Existing foreign-weapon match-stat schema coverage remains incomplete. Brief IW5 gameplay also logged a static-model lighting atlas-capacity warning; no rendering fix is claimed here.

The player archive is password-protected: t.me/contextrot. It contains the executable with embedded legal notices; game data is not included. Keep your existing channel community descriptor beside the executable.

Runtime readiness, rendering and audio improvements

Commit: f026f5fca0b9e3550f6c053a577caff67b3d3dc9. Production package: be07ba2c6be4229d; dev package: 370c9f7b029a52a1.

  • Coordinate navigation, rendering, audio and local input readiness per world generation.
  • Improve material selection, shadow targets, shader and skeleton sharing, and UI image memory use.
  • Publish audio policies, prioritize media work, bound WMA/SAB decoding, and retain round-result sounds during killcams.
  • Correlate predicted fire with authority results and create missing Linux Steam game links.

Validation: Linux play build; Windows cross-build; formatting and publish-check. Brief Linux bot gameplay on IW4 Rust, IW5 Paris and T5 Jungle loaded scripts, spawned players and bots, and exited normally. Both channel manifests and update blobs are checked against release hashes over TLS before this release is finalized.

Windows gameplay and an actual Windows self-update were not exercised. Full approved lifecycle and two-client scenarios were not rerun in this shipping pass. T6 world spatial audio and some speaker-map routes remain unsupported; existing foreign-weapon match-stat schema coverage remains incomplete.

The player archive is password-protected: t.me/contextrot. It contains the executable with embedded legal notices; game data is not included. Continue using your channel's community descriptor beside the executable.

Native Black Ops audio, Black Ops II maps and cross-game bot classes

This release adds native Black Ops audio, Black Ops II worlds, faction models and equipment, weapon camouflage, revised movement and collision, late-join synchronization and local skill ratings. The main menu shows the selected community and master ping. Bots and dummies receive unique player-style names, and twenty available class presets include IW4, MW3, Black Ops and Black Ops II weapons.

Includes external pull requests #59, #64 and #65 with contributor history preserved. Thanks to all contributors, and to ju1cedr1nker and silvernote03 for weapon, map and attachment QA.

Commit: 65052d3. Linux Vulkan gameplay smoke checks covered IW4, IW5, T5 and T6; both approved scenario assertions passed, including two clients through the dev master. The Windows executable is cross-built and archive integrity checked; Windows gameplay and actual client self-update have not been exercised. Foreign-weapon match-stat schema coverage remains incomplete and can log an error. Game files are not included.

Pre-release

@vladtrc vladtrc released this 02 Oct 17:10

Adds automatic Steam discovery for Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops (BO1), alongside Modern Warfare 2. Each title is discovered independently; existing shortcuts remain intact, and multiple matching installs require a manual choice.

Commit: d352dbd. Built for Windows x86-64 with the play profile; protocol 10.

Validation: Linux launcher compilation, Windows discovery compilation, the full Windows release build, and fixture checks for title selection, existing shortcuts, multiple installs and game-envelope validation passed. Actual Windows shortcut creation and a client pulling the update have not been exercised.

The archive password is t.me/contextrot. The community descriptor is distributed separately. Game files are not included.

@vladtrc vladtrc released this 02 Oct 16:50

Prebuilt Windows executable built from d48a9f6 (play profile, x86_64-pc-windows-msvc).

Install: extract iw4l-windows.zip (password t.me/contextrot) into an empty writable folder, add a shortcut to your MW2 installation folder next to iw4l.exe, launch iw4l.exe. For online play, put the .iw4l-server file from your server operator beside it; the game then updates itself on launch. Players already on demo.1 with the community file receive this build automatically.

Exercised: Linux build of the same commit on iw4 mp_rust, iw5 mp_dome and t5 mp_nuked with bots; two Linux clients through a dev master; the prod update origin serving this build.

Limitations: gameplay is incomplete — expect missing behavior, bugs and desyncs. All players need the same build. Online play requires the community .iw4l-server file.
