System Info:

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti (Pascal, Compute Capability 6.1)

CUDA Version: 12.8

Driver Version: 570.86.10

vLLM Version: 0.9.1

Install Method: pip install vllm

I installed vLLM 0.9.1 using pip and attempted to serve a Hugging Face model, but it fails at runtime with:
RuntimeError: CUDA error: no kernel image is available for execution on the device

I noticed that vLLM officially supports GPUs with compute capability 7.0 and above. Is there any recommended way to install or run it with a GPU that has compute capability 6.1, such as my GTX 1080 Ti?

How you are installing vllm
