The cases that Google tests OTOC(2) on are so very entropic to begin with, it got me thinking how a "mix-in" with straight random entropy could actually improve results (although, in general, even for a very small number of "butterfly qubits" and small number of cycles, the entropy mix-in still seems to give an advantage and might constitute real mechanics).
