The biggest release so far. Clip regions from your notes, not just documents. Inserts flow
across pages by themselves. Tables of contents are numbered and indented. Plus fixes to note
capture that were quietly losing content, and clearer, safer behaviour around anything that
deletes.

Region capture in notes. Clip a diagram, a sketch or a block of handwriting straight out of
a .note page, the same way you already could from a PDF or EPUB.
A "Clip Region" button on the toolbar. Frame and capture a region directly, without going
through a text selection first.
Redesigned icons. The plugin icon and the in-app icons were redrawn for e-ink: high
contrast, no grey fills, legible at toolbar size.
Inserts continue onto the next page. When a batch of clips is too big for the current page,
Clipper turns to the next existing page and carries on, instead of stopping.
📖 Table of contents: now with a limit made explicit
The table of contents itself isn't new (it arrived in 0.1.9), but this release changes how it
looks and settles how it behaves when it doesn't fit.
Entries are now numbered and indented by level. Clipper works out the heading levels from
the title styles you used, then numbers them as an outline: 1., 1.1, 1.2, 2., and so on,
with each level indented under its parent. A note that uses a single title style stays a flat
numbered list, exactly as before. Numbering runs continuously down the page rather than
restarting.
A cleaner header. The rule under the "TABLE OF CONTENTS" heading is gone. It sat close
enough to the first entry that the two could bleed into each other.
A table of contents is one page. If your note has more headings than fit, Clipper writes the
ones that fit and says so at the bottom: "Showing first 21 of 24 headings". Multi-page is
built but switched off: writing across a page break can crash the note app on the current
firmware. It returns once that is fixed. Choosing a smaller Inserted text size fits more
headings on the page.
🔧 Fixed
- Note captures no longer include the page's ruled lines. The template was being baked into
the image behind your ink. - Note captures now include every visible layer. Anything drawn on a layer other than the
main one was silently missing from the clip. - Auto-trim now works on note clips. Empty margins around a note capture were never being
trimmed, so clips came out larger than what you framed. - Clips are no longer removed when their insert didn't actually land. With "Remove clips
after inserting" on, a failed insert could still delete the clip. - A long clip split across a page break no longer corrupts the pieces after it. In a merged
clip, leftover text from one part could bleed into a later part. - Granting broader file access no longer produced worse captures. Setting Clipper's file
permission to "Always Allow" made it fall back to a lower-quality screen capture, so the
stricter, more convenient choice quietly gave the worse result. - Jump-to-Source now explains itself when it can't open a file. Tapping the jump icon used
to do nothing at all if the source had been moved or deleted. It now says so, and it also
tells you when a file is locked with a password instead of failing silently. - Permission problems now say what is wrong. Refused reads and writes used to fail with
nothing useful on screen; Clipper now tells you which access is missing and how to grant it.
⚠️ Things worth knowing
Rebuilding a table of contents replaces the whole page. Everything on that page goes,
including notes or handwriting you added to it. Clipper always asks first, and cancelling leaves
the page exactly as it was.
If a rebuild finds fewer headings than last time, Clipper asks before replacing.
Handwriting recognition isn't perfectly repeatable, and a shorter table of contents looks
perfectly normal, so it's your call rather than a silent loss.
Clear All now asks first. It deletes every clip and its saved images, and it sits one tap
away in the bottom bar.
A clip whose image has gone missing now says so on the card, instead of showing an empty
box that looks like a display glitch.
Resuming an interrupted insert needs "Remove clips after inserting" turned on. Clipper
resumes by removing what it already placed, so with that setting off it starts again from the
beginning and repeats itself. Turn it on before inserting a batch too big for one page.
Page Full still needs you to add the page. When a note runs out of pages, Clipper asks you
to tap + in the note toolbar; your remaining clips stay queued.
♻️ Updating from an earlier version
Install the new .snplg over the existing plugin, don't uninstall first.
Updating over the top keeps everything. Uninstalling deletes your saved clip images, because
those files live in the plugin's own folder, which the device removes when a plugin is removed.
Your text clips and their sources survive either way.
If you do uninstall and reinstall, Clipper notices on the next launch and offers to tidy up the
clips whose images are gone, or to keep them, if you'd rather.
Install: download SnClipper.snplg, copy it to /Supernote/MyStyle, then on the device open
Settings, My Style, Sideloading and install.
Upgrading: install over the existing plugin. Do not uninstall first, or your saved clip
images are removed.
Requires Supernote plugin beta firmware, Chauvet 3.29.43_beta or newer. Tested on Manta
(A5X2) with 3.29.44_beta. Not yet tested on Nomad.
