OpenCode Model Aliases 1.0.0

Stable floating aliases for OpenCode's model catalog. Declare a provider-scoped alias once; it follows the newest eligible model as providers add or update models.

Highlights

  • Precise, provider-scoped selection: use match and exclude patterns, then filter by enabled state, status, tools, input/output modalities, and minimum context.
  • Deterministic latest selection: the newest release date wins; ties use descending model ID, and models without release dates are never selected.
  • Flexible, validated configuration: define aliases inline or in the nearest .opencode/opencode-model-aliases.jsonc; use the published JSON Schema, strict validation, and custom display names.
  • Inspect and explain decisions: /model-aliases and the inspect/explain RPCs show resolved targets, rejected candidates, and selection reasons.
  • Track target changes: alias history and TUI notifications surface when a target changes.
  • Resilience and identity: after startup, strict aliases recover when a matching model returns after target loss; TUI rows preserve alias identity.
  • Verified host compatibility: CI real-host smoke tests cover OpenCode 2.0.16 and 2.0.24.

Only the latest strategy is supported. Filters determine eligibility, not quality or price; aliases remain provider-local, with no proxying or failover.
