vormia-go-cli v1.2.0

Release of the Vormia Go CLI since v1.0.0. Adds starter kit install/publish (introduced in the v1.1.0 line of work) and vormia self-update for refreshing the CLI binary. Slice 1 commands (new, serve, doctor) are unchanged.

Install

go install github.com/vormialabs/vormia-go-cli/cmd/vormia@v1.2.0

Or update an existing install:

vormia self-update
# or: go install github.com/vormialabs/vormia-go-cli/cmd/vormia@v1.2.0

Requires Go 1.26+. Verify with vormia --version → vormia version 1.2.0.

Highlights

vormia starterkit install / publish

Optional fuller app layout from vormia-go-starter-kit, run after vormia new (or on a hand-written Vormia app with .vormia.json + go.mod):

cd blog
vormia starterkit install # latest stable release tarball
vormia starterkit install --version v1.0.1 # pin a tag
vormia starterkit install --beta # include pre-releases

vormia starterkit publish # prompts for drivers + output mode
vormia starterkit publish --drivers sqlite,postgres
  • Downloads the release tarball and extracts config/, database/, internal/, logs/, pkg/, and templates/
  • Additive only — never overwrites existing files; skipped paths are reported
  • Rewrites the module placeholder to the project's go.mod module path
  • publish renders main.go (stdout / main.go.example / overwrite + .bak), .env.example, and INTEGRATION.md

vormia self-update

Reinstalls the CLI binary via go install (cobra-only; no new dependencies):

vormia self-update # @latest
vormia self-update --version v1.2.0 # pin
vormia self-update --check # current vs latest stable; no install
  • Requires go on PATH
  • With --check, --version is ignored — comparison is always against the latest stable GitHub release
  • Replaces a binary installed into GOPATH/bin (or GOBIN); a hand-built ./vormia elsewhere is not updated

Docs

What's next

Still deferred until matching framework / manifest work lands:

  • make:model, make:controller, make:service — ORM slice
  • migrate up / migrate down — migration system
  • upgrade — bump a project's pinned framework/driver versions in go.mod (not the CLI binary; use self-update for that)
