v3.1.15
Summary
Vorssaint 3.1.15 fixes starts that could leave the app with no menu bar icon
or quit it right away, freezes where the app stopped responding, a crash
while choosing a screenshot area, and an external display that could go dark
and stay dark. It also gives back the clicks that moving windows by dragging
was taking from other apps, repairs smooth scrolling, the brightness keys and
the shortcut recorder, and brings the window switcher back on the first
press.
Fixed
- Moving and resizing windows by dragging no longer takes the modifier click
away from other apps. A click that does not move now goes to the app as
usual, and the window only follows the pointer once you actually drag. - The window switcher opens on the first press again after you close every
window of an app or move to another desktop. With nothing left to switch to,
the shortcut now stays quiet instead of falling back to the system switcher. - Smooth scrolling moves the right distance on mice that report the wheel
continuously, and the speed setting now works on them. - Smooth scrolling no longer reverses the scroll direction on its own.
Inverting the direction works alongside it, and so does Shift to scroll
sideways. - The app could start with no menu bar icon and quit a few seconds later.
It now starts reliably, including on a Mac whose display was still waking
up. - The app could quit at startup right after an update, while the tour of the
new features was opening. The tour now keeps the same size on every page. - The app could stop responding for a while at a time, often right when
headphones or another audio device connected. It no longer waits on the
audio system, on other apps that are busy, or on commands that never
answer, and it stops watching audio properly when the mixer or the mic
mute is switched off instead of leaving watchers behind. - An external display could go dark while its brightness was adjusted and
stay dark until it was unplugged. It recovers now, and a screen switched
off here comes back at the next start. - Choosing a screenshot area no longer quits the app when the drag ends with
more than one finger leaving the trackpad. Cancelling with Escape is safe
too. Thanks to @lei1024. - Window Switcher previews show the whole window. A window pushed over the
edge of the screen used to appear as a thin strip. - Brightness keys follow the pointer on keyboards other than the built-in
one, including with the lid closed. - Per-app volume no longer jumps loud or quiet when an app changes what it
is playing. Quitting or switching the mixer off puts back the input
device and the volume it changed. - The panel stays under its icon when the menu bar is set to hide itself.
Switching tabs no longer moves it to the edge of the screen. - Recording a shortcut captures it instead of running it. Delete clears the
shortcut, more keys can be recorded, and the field no longer overlaps the
text beside it while it listens. - The radial menu settings now say whether the app can see the mouse button
you picked, so a button the mouse itself has taken over is obvious.
