BeatWave v4.5.0

We are excited to announce the release of BeatWave v4.5.0! This update introduces high-fidelity studio audio transitions, seamless Wi-Fi remote control sync (Spotify Connect-style), karaoke vocal suppression, dynamic home-screen aesthetics, and a brand-new interactive "Wrapped" experience.

What's New in v4.5.0

1. Spotify Connect-Style Playback & Remote Control 🛜

  • Auto-Discovery: Devices on the same Wi-Fi network automatically detect each other using Network Service Discovery (mDNS / NSD), eliminating the need for manual IP entries.
  • Live Playback Sync: Real-time synchronization of playing song metadata (title, artist, artwork), playback state (playing/paused), volume levels, and precise timeline position between devices.
  • Remote Cast Controller: Tap the new Cast button on the player to open a list of active devices, cast audio, and use your phone to control remote playback controls (play, pause, seek, and track skips).

2. Studio-Grade Audio Transitions 🎚️

  • Crossfade Skips: Integrated seamless audio blending when skipping tracks using the crossfade engine.
  • Volume Fade Transitions: Implemented 300ms volume fading on play/pause and 150ms seek fades to eliminate harsh audio clicks and pops.

3. Vocal Suppression (Karaoke Mode) 🎤

  • Out-Of-Phase Stereo (OOPS): Introduced real-time vocal suppression processing directly inside the audio pipeline.
  • Quick Toggle: Toggle Karaoke mode on/off on the fly from the Player settings.

4. Dynamic Blurs & Customized Backgrounds 🖼️

  • Blurred Home Screen: Custom background images with adjustable blur radius are now rendered at the home container level instead of the player screen, improving overall layout legibility and player screen performance.

5. Interactive "BeatWave Wrapped" 📊

  • Year in Review Story: Relive your music habits with a beautiful, slide-based, story-styled listening recap of your top tracks, artists, and total play duration.
  • Stats Access: Launch your Wrapped recap anytime directly from the Stats screen.

6. Interactive Lyric Card Sharing 📝

  • Quick Selection Mode: Instantly select lyrics and generate custom lyric image cards with a one-tap "Share Card" button at the bottom of the lyrics sheet.

Technical & CI/CD Enhancements

  • Build Stack Upgraded: Switched execution runtime to JDK 21 to align with dependencies.
  • Clean Builds: Updated workflow pipeline (.github/workflows/android.yml) to invoke Gradle clean to guarantee clear caching on builds.
  • AAPT2 Compliance: Resolved positional formatting warnings in Azerbaijani localization resources.
