Energy Awareness
Voice assistant integrated with IoT devices for real-time monitoring and control, with suggestions from prediction algorithms. It was the winning project of the EDP University Challenge 2019 global final in Portugal, an university competition involving Portugal, Spain and Brazil.
What is it? This project aims to expand the concept of Smart Homes, giving them the ability to provide forecasts of future expenditures and make people aware of energy consumption.
Why does it matter? Awareness about the consumption of energy resources has been increasing every year. This concern created a demand for solutions to reduce waste and increase efficiency in the use of energy.
What are the results? Product acceptance surveys were carried out, conversational interfaces were implemented on the Facebook Messenger, Google Assistant, LINE and Telegram platforms, libraries for viewing and predicting energy consumption, and client applications for Smart TVs.
