v1.0.7 — Undo that actually works, and a UI that scales
Free and open source. Universal binary, macOS 13+.
What's new
Text follows your system text size. The interface was built with fixed point sizes and ignored Accessibility → Display → Text Size entirely. Every screen is now on a scale that responds to it.
Dark mode reworked — a softer canvas, cards that read as cards, and the stray rectangle that appeared across every screen is gone.
One permissions screen instead of prompts scattered through the app. It explains what macOS needs and why, shows live status, and offers to relaunch when Full Disk Access is granted — macOS only applies that at launch, which is the usual reason it seems not to work.
Optional permanent delete. Trash-first is still the default, and turning it off asks first.
Scans survive switching tabs. A long Space Lens walk is no longer thrown away when you look at another screen.
Fixes
- Undo across a relaunch never actually worked. Its records lived inside
~/.Trash, which macOS will not let an app enumerate without Full Disk Access, and the failure was silent. They now live in Application Support and reload as intended. - Space Lens, Duplicate Finder and Large & Old Files rendered underneath the title bar, headings colliding with the window title.
- The size sliders drew a stray dashed line — macOS renders a tick mark for every step, and there were thousands.
- The app icon showed as a white card inside a grey square instead of filling its tile; the sidebar logo carried the same white background.
- The appearance toggle had a permanent background from macOS 26's toolbar chrome on top of its own hover state.
- Opening App Uninstaller shoved the navigation sidebar aside and clipped the logo — its two panes asked for more width than a small window had left.
Not included
The menu-bar panel is written and works, but the MenuBarExtra scene pins the app at 100% CPU with memory climbing. It is held back until that is understood rather than patched.
Installing
This build is ad-hoc signed, not notarized — there is no paid Apple Developer Program membership behind it yet. macOS will warn on first launch: right-click the app → Open → Open, once. Every later launch is a normal double-click. See docs/INSTALL.md.
109 unit tests pass on this commit.
Supersedes v1.0.6, which was published an hour earlier and downloaded by nobody. That tag points at source without the App Uninstaller fix, and one version string should mean one binary.

v1.0.4 — Space Lens treemap, Undo that survives relaunch
Mac Cleaner Pro v1.0.4 — free and open source (MIT), universal binary, macOS 13+.
What's new
- Space Lens has two views. The sunburst it opens on, plus a new squarified treemap. Your last choice is remembered.
- Undo survives quitting the app. Staging tokens persist to disk and reload at launch, and a sweep clears anything older than 30 days.
- Sizes match reality. Smart Scan counts hidden files toward folder sizes, and cancelled scans no longer report inflated totals.
- Memory Manager stopped overpromising. Quit Selected is graceful and asks first. Quick Free applies memory pressure so the kernel drops cached pages — and says plainly when it skips, because there is no purge without root.
- Accessibility. The custom-drawn UI is reachable by VoiceOver, and the primary action on every screen has a keyboard shortcut.
- 21 signed rules in rule pack v1.1.0 — caches, logs, developer artifacts, browsers, mail.
- A String Catalog gives localization somewhere to land, and CI now runs the suite on every pull request.
Fixes
- Path wildcards match hidden entries, so dotfile caches are no longer silently skipped.
- Deletion is atomic — a partial failure rolls back instead of leaving half a batch staged.
- The rule-pack verifier pins the trusted public key and fails loudly on a bad signature.
Install
Open the .dmg, drag Mac Cleaner Pro to Applications, then right-click → Open the first time.
This build is ad-hoc signed, not notarized, so Gatekeeper warns on first launch. Notarization needs a paid Apple Developer Program membership — that's one of the things donations go toward. After the first right-click → Open, double-clicking works forever.
