PC-98 Redistributable Font - Version 1

A redistributable replacement font set for PC-98-compatible use.

Download pc98-replacement-font-v1.zip for the complete font package. It contains:

  • font.bmp and V98-format font.rom
  • Manifest and provenance information
  • NOTICE and FONTLOG
  • Required license texts

The fonts are generated from redistributable public font sources, algorithmically generated glyphs, and documented owner-created or modified overrides. They are not a dump of an NEC PC-9801 font ROM and do not claim pixel-identical reproduction of any particular NEC ROM revision.

License: see the bundled license and notice files. The mixed generated font assets follow the project's OFL-1.1 distribution policy; original upstream permissions and notices are preserved.

Validation passed: 118 project tests, 22 retained-loader cases, all 57 owner override checks, deterministic rebuilds and privacy checks. The V98 ROM is 288768 bytes; the audited 280576-byte shared BMP/ROM domain has zero mismatches.
