New use for MusicXML with MyBandTracks

Hi,

I am releasing a new app aimed at band collaboration. The idea is to connect band members together and keep everyone in sync on song structure, key, tempo, transposition. The app does this with audio tracks and song variants. Each variant is aimed at a different purpose like chords, lyrics, bass, guitar and can be notes or maybe notation in the future. I can see where someone using a drum notation or music notation app can create the chart, export it to MusicXML and then import into MyBandTracks to share with the band.

My background includes CORBA, ACORD and other Insurance standards like openIDS. I am really interested in how I can participate in this standard and explore this opportunity.

Welcome and thanks for sharing your idea here!

Initially, I would expect that MusicXML as it stands today will support most of your app's needs. Based on your description, and over-simplifying, I could imagine that you would create a full-band score with multiple instruments (check out the MusicXML tutorial's multi-part section) and then create an XSLT transformation to extract each part / instrument on its own that band members can access for their individual study.
